Is it possible for you to run me through it?
You said to allow it to install onto "the recently created prefix", but when opening, its install location is just "Opera GX". I did a Custom location in my Decks SD card, which works, but the progress bar makes no progress. Files ARE being added, but i don't know when it's done, or it its even working.
IS their any errors i had done?
{1} Insert a transportable storage device into your PC (Extrenal Hard drive or USB)
{2} Install Opera GX Onto the storage device.
(a) If you DO NOT have Opera GX, simple install it onto the hard drive
(b) If you DO have Opera GX, when you open the installer, click on OPTIONS, on the middle-left of the screen, and install it onto the Storage Deivce.
{3} Eject the Storage device FROM the PC, and place it INTO the Steam deck.
{4} Install Proton GE from the Discover store (As of now its called ProtonUp-QT, and open it.
{5} Click 'add tool' and select GE Proton (latest version, as of now is 9)
{6} Go to steam and click "Add A Game" on the bottom right corner of the screen, Then add a Non-Steam Game. Go to "Browse", then find and select the .exe of Opera.
{7} Right click it on your library > Properties > Compatability > Toggle it on and select the GEProton 9.
{8} Save and exit, then run.
{9} Protif!
Personally i used the Windows version which DOES work, but has its kinks. If i can find out how, i'd figure out how to install the Raw Linux Files, and that should work fine. IF you do, please throw it my way here and i'll add it onto this.
If i could get the Linux version without it being a .Deb file, then Opera should work flawlseesly
Edit:
You will find a tree under the root directory for usr, lib, bin, and maybe opt (I have not downloaded it)
Regular Opera is available in Linux format, but their GX 'gaming' version is not. It's Windows only.
That is basically the original link I shared. However, in the link, you needed to copy the installed folder from your PC to a SD card instead of installing directly to the SD card.
