Is Dual booting windows worth it?
Is it worth it to dual boot windows onto my steam deck to be able to play Fortnite, call of duty, pubg and other games that require windows?

Only you know the answer to your own question.

I'd rather stream those games from a PC/console to the Deck.

Bios update messes up the efi table. Learn how to fix it whenever you cannot boot into windows.

Okay thanks! I’ll check that out!

My experience between dual booting was that
in EFI I could switch between windows & linux...

Linux & windows both had problems with Online,
but neither system had problems...

The issue wasn't an issue until things got worst & worst...
The more I tried to fix the Internet, the worst the
Internet got, & the more frequently I had to fix it,
Eventually, I could not run Internet at all on either
Linux nor WIndows...

Without Separating Linux & Winows...

My Linux had extra Protection from breaking...

The problem is Windows used to know how to handle
Intenet on Multiple Machines, but Linux did not... If
Windows & Linux shared Internet, it would break,
Linux & Windows cannot share the same Internet...

This is why the Internet stops working when
you have dual booting in EFI...

If you can manually figure how to fix this??

I think you should be fine, but as the person
above stated

Update messes with EFI

Hmmm...

Sounds Like EFI Still isn't good between Windows & Linux...

Whatever you do?? Good Luck...

If you have the SD OLED, the drivers for Windows don't even exist. Valve hasn't really lived up to their words on dual boot support. I think they presented the situation as if they were able to provide that support if the customers wanted it. But people continued to buy the Steam Deck and sing its praises, and there's no organized customers complaining about the lack of dual boot support. So not only they've chosen to disregard their previous words, they've basically gone on to ignore Windows altogether.

For the LED Deck, it works, but it's pretty janky. There's no fan control and the fans are simply maxed at all times, for example. Not worth it.

The need for dual booting really hinges on your particular use case. I considered trying dual booting when I first got my Deck (LCD), but over time I've found that Linux solutions for running the stuff I'm interested in (VNs and JRPGs) have come steadily, and faster than I'd expected. This has lessened my interest in going to dual booting for my use case.
I haven't ended up needing emulation either. My docked Deck and docked Switch share a monitor via an hdmi switch. Works great.

Hoping Valve do something about Fortnite in SD. This is one of the most played games and it will be perfect to play in SD because the hardware ergonomics and the great OLED screen, not so much playable in Switch IMO I prefer play this game in PS5 but it is not portable of course. I can play Gears 5 so why not Fortnite?

If you have to ask that question, it's probably not worth it.

Valve can't do anything about it. It's all down to Epic, and they said, "hell, no."

That one's on Epic.
They don't want Fortnite on Deck, because li'l Timmy doesn't like Steam.
Proton supports EAC, so it's certainly not a technical issue.

I found this video pretty informative, although I'm sure it's probably a bit dated by now.

I will say, it would be very nice to have all the quality of life stuff Windows provides, such as official software for Razer products to control their LEDs and whatnot.

Use OpenRGB[openrgb.org] instead.

I suppose I should specify 'native support' I know there are ways to do everything, but companies tailor their programs for Windows.
