7 inch is too small.....it is barely bigger.....
......than mobile phone. It is marginally bigger than small Vita. 7 inch is less than low tier tablet. For txt heavy games with lots of reading like presented in a promo material Disco Elysium, 7 inch is too small. Can they make screen bigger plz. And plz get rid of this awfully thick bezels.

It can be connected to anything with DisplayPort, or HDMI with the dock, this would be useful for people who only have a television, also it can be used as a computer should someone not have one.

Yeah but just don't use a screen that require a 3000$ machine to run it at a decent FPS.

I mean yeah trying to use it on a high resolution display at native resolution would be silly, but with scaling or up to 1440p native it should be acceptable.

7 inch is way enough if you know how to use it.

I don't talk about running it in an higher resolution but running it to a 1440P resolution on a screen is rather absurd.

I agree tons are having that, me included for one of my screens but if I ever plug it, I'll have a 1080P TV dedicated to this, but certainly not 1400P and hoping it run decent LOL.

Ehrm.....when you plug it in to 1440p monitor you will barely get 15 fps at high, maybe sub 30 at medium. It has to be 10 inch.....

My tablet is 10 inches, add controls to each side and that makes it massive. No way would that be comfortable to hold.

I agree about having thinner bezels though. The bezels make it ugly.

That's what she said...

I mean, it's fine. It's already a beastly monster of a handheld. I would hardly call it pocket friendly. I'm likely going to be playing a lot of games that have console ports as well, because those games are meant to be played from couch distance anyway, and are more controller friendly.

8.4 inch. Thats more like it, thats what I am talking about.
Problem 1 - too expensive for what it is and represents.
Problem 2 - too loud
Problem 3 - not great OS for handled, apparently.

I would but this does not look like £ 1000 machine. Screen is not even OLED and it is too loud. I edited problem 1 " too expenisve for what it is "

This device is a foot wide, and the bigger the screen the more power it uses, they have to strike a balance somewhere and it really isn't to expensive for what it is, maybe to you, but not to me.

That would entirely depend on the game, wait for proper benchmarks but I suspect it'll be decent enough at 1440p
I will wait for benchmarks but I dont expect these to be far off from what I am predicting. In my opnion Valve should focus on building ultimate portable console rather than hybrid machine which will never achieve exellence as a portable or a mini PC. Why not to make screen like semi foldable 10 inch screen kr spmething, horizontal.butterfly fold. I would gladly pay even up to £ 1000 for such portable and yet again we will get middle of the road portable which will die just like Vita did.

Steam can't bend spacetime and find an iGPU from the year 2066 that'll run every game in perfect 4k 240hz.

A folding screen would also massively drive the cost up and make the Deck absurdly fragile, and even more heavy. Folding screens are cool but right now, the tech for them blows.

switch is smaller
If there's one annoyance I have with the Switch its the fact that it would be coazy if they upscaled the screen just a little bit to reduce the bezel

The two things I don't like about the steam deck is that

1. There's only one USB-C, maybe even a third on the bottom (However Switch patents might be an issue
2. The bevel is very similar to the Switch.

However I don't think it'll matter that much

I do like having a bezelless phone.

With a title like that get ready to be bombarded by penis enlargement ads. I might know this from experience.

The Steam Deck feel much better in hands than the Switch, if you are focused on the Steam Deck screen, you won't much notice the bezel IMO.

I suspect a lot of electronic is under it too. So doing it might require bigger device.
