How to adjust to gyro aiming
I can use gyro aiming pretty well in Mass Effect, Borderlands, basically any game that requires you to hold down a button to aim because I can set the gyro to only accept input while I'm aiming. It feels weird to use in Doom, Deep Rock Galactic, Quake, any game that doesn't have an aim mechanic because while it helps me be precise while fighting enemies, when I'm not in combat it feels like I'm twitching like a coke addict with the way my view constantly jitters with any subtle movements I do.

Any suggestions?

Have you tried not fidgeting so much? Or at least taking your thumb off the stick/trackpad before your wave your Deck around like a feather duster? 😜

It's kind of complicated to answer, but there are different gyro modes and each one is adjusted differently. Will this be gyro mouse or gyro joystick? Does the game support mixed input between gamepad and mouse? If it's mouse, you could do As Mouse or Gyro to Mouse.

Gyro to Mouse is the newer mode, but requires more work to set up. This video gives an overview.

I'll go over Deep Rock Galactic as an example. This game has mouse smoothing which will throw off your calibration unless it's disabled. So you'd have to turn that off.

mouse-sensitivity.com gives the counts as 4488 at default sensitivity and FOV.
Gyro to Mouse set gyro angles to mouse pixels to 4488px.

Steam Deck is 16:10 aspect ratio I would set vertical/horizontal mixer to -37.5% (1 - 10/16)

I'd leave 3ODF to 2D conversion at Yaw+Roll

If you're twitching when holding the Deck still, increase Gyro Speed Deadzone.

All this is for one gyro mode, if you're setting it up a different mode, there are other things you'd do.
