Steam Deck

Any sales due?
I'm going to buy one of these little buggers but I didn't want to buy one today just for it to go on sale tomorrow. Anyone know of or suspect any upcoming sales?

Considering the first LCD steam deck went on sale rather quick, I wouldn't be surprised to see sales for the OLED as well within the next months. I think we'll see a disount when the next steam sale is there.

Ah, that would be the spring or summer sale. The only other one would be it's birthday I would think. I am going to have to look up how long any of they are off. I doubt any of those are going to be within the next few week though and I don't want to wait to long when I'm not even sure that the OLED will be on sale.
I just wanted to ask in case someone knew something I didn't, like it goes on 80% off sale next Monday. :D

I’m pretty confident it goes on 80% off sale next Tuesday. Why tuesday you ask ? Come on, really ?

These are all the sales/events Valve is personally hosting this year...

The LCD had its first discount when it had been out for about a year, which would put the OLED's first discount around the time of the winter sale.

If you suspect that the Deck will be discounted in the spring sale you could just wait - it's about a week away.

Steam Deck went on sale for 10% off for the first time a year and 1 month after the initial release of the Deck.

Deck came out February 2022.
First 10% off sale, March 2023.

According to the historical data[steamdb.info], the next time it went for 10% off was in June during the Summer Sale. It's not a guarantee, but that's most likely when we'll see the next one, unless it hits in less than a week for the spring sale.

There are still discontinued 64GB LCD models for $349, and the 256GB LCD model is the same price as the 64GB model used to be. That could be an option for someone looking to save a buck.

The Certified Refurbished Decks can go as low as $279, but they're very out of stock.

Steam Spring Sale: March 14 - 21 (major seasonal sale. I'm wondering if it's worth waiting for the off chance? That's only next week.

Of course it's possible that it could go on sale in less than a week for the Spring Sale, but there's no precedent to support that.

I've set my heart on the OLED version now even though the LCD versions are a really great offer.

Maybe for the LCDs but it's Valve so, who knows.

Nice. I do highly recommend the OLED. It's so much more than just a screen upgrade. Mine sees more game time than any other device in my house now.

I can you something that is a certainty. I am dead excited. I have a kick bum PC but have always wanted to be able to afford a steam deck so I can lay in bed and play my rouge-likes and stuff.
To add to my excitement is how great they look on the vids I watch,

Wouldn't be surprised to see a tax day sale.

To late. I couldn't wait any longer and have just ordered the 1TB version. I think I'm convinced now that it is something I am going to love, and something I will end up getting my moneys worth from.
I spend most of my day stuck to my desk playing games, now I can play those games anywhere. I am freed from my desktop. Freedom!!!

I've gone crazy. I have also ordered a dock, assorted accessories and I am buying up every steam deck vitrified game that goes on sale. Piggie bank is starting to feel very lite. I need to get myself under control.
