I updated the dock's firmware too.
This system is running a normal Opensuse tumbleweed in the mainline kernel. Wake up isn't guarantee for s3 sleep. I have been procrastinate reporting to opensuse.
This system is running gnome.
The unwakable instance happens when the system attempts suspend on the second time for some reason. Turn off the TV before the machine suspends creates a better wake up behavior. I have not tried any other permutations other sleep with TV on or TV off.
Step to reproduce
1. Run Opensuse tumbleed - gnome - I didn't try KDE or Steam OS yet
2. Plug in the dock
3. Plug in the TV - I have UM7300AUE.
4. Let the deck sleep once. You will notice the TV will start playing sound from the cable box, but the image will not match
5. Wait even longer and the deck will wake up by itself to notify you it will suspend.
6. The deck will suspend by itself.
Description:
On the second wake up, the errors will produce by below. I practically had to give up and hold the power button. For some reason, turning off the TV before the deck sleeps migrates the issue. Reproducing bugs and grabbing logs are so time consuming sometimes.
Desired Result:
The deck wakes up.
With a docked Deck, when you go to the Power menu and select Sleep the Deck goes to sleep and the Steam Controller shuts itself off.
Then, to wake up: you just hit the Stream Controller's Power button and it switches the Controller on and wakes the Deck as well.
Works great!
