Oled purchase process stuck at packaged
Hello! I wanted to open this thread to share my experience regarding the Steam Deck OLED purchasing process.

I managed to complete the purchase, the 16th, at 7:23 pm (despite the known issues with unavailability in the payment process), with the destination being Spain.

I understand that the launch of a product like the Steam Deck OLED generates high expectations and high demand, which can lead to system unavailability issues. It's understandable, although not desirable as a consumer.

When it comes to making the purchase and seeking guidance, I've been following various Telegram groups and forums of Spanish Valve followers. I have observed that other Spanish customers who placed orders on Thursday the 16th, after 8 pm (and even others who ordered on Friday the 17th), already have a tracking ID and are in the process of delivery. However, mine and those of many other Spanish customers who placed orders in a similar time frame are still in the packaging phase.

I won't deny that I am slightly disappointed with the purchasing process. As mentioned earlier, not so much due to the collateral effects of a potential increase in the number of concurrent users but rather due to the management of customer expectations. It seems strange that several days after making the payment, the status of the package does not change while that of other customers does.

I know that Steam is not that type of store, but if it were a ticket-selling store, I, who was there at the specified time to avoid potential stock issues, find that other customers who arrived later have been able to get their tickets (if you'll allow the metaphor). I believe this is a comparative grievance. A communication like 'Apologies, but due to the number of requests, shipments (or your shipment) will experience a delay' would be understandable. Unfortunately, this has not been the case.

I hope that Steam/Valve can provide some solution or expedite the shipment.

Thank you for reading this message.

Exactly the same thing happens to me, I bought my Steam Deck just an hour after reservations opened when Paypal started working, early Friday they notified me that they packaged my order, and here I am still waiting for them to pick it up, they will be fulfilled the 6 days since I bought it without knowing anything...this is a shame.

I am from Spain.

I find myself in the same situation as the colleague above who opened the thread...

I hope the situation is resolved soon because it is something I can't understand...

My order is the same day at 7:15pm...

From Spain too...

Thank you for reading this message.

Same issue here. Ordered at 19:25h, 16th Nov. Everyone got their SteamDeck shipped (bought after me or even the next day) but mine is still as "Packaging". Being one of the early buyers, it's a really annoying situation. It's a shame of service. I'm from Barcelona.
Same thing here. Bought soon after it was released, destination being Sweden, and it's been forever stuck at "Packaged". They promised 3 to 5 business days for delivery and it's been 3 days already. Very frustrating. I only bought it because I wanted to take it on a trip that happens shortly and decided to buy because it would arrive before the trip. but that won't be the case at all apparently. :rfacepalm:

In my case completed a deck oled 1tb buy process at 19:25. Considering from forums and chats that later clients I including someone who made the proceess on friday have their parcel comming… It’s very annoying. My purchase still on “packaged”.

I'm on the same boat, manage to get it within the first 20minutes of the OLED ones being available and my order is stuck at "Packaged items" since Friday.

It would not be so terrible if it weren't that people who ordered later have theirs on the way.

Same situation here too. I bought it at the very same time frame as the other users above and the update is nowhere to be seen. The order is stuck in a 'shipping soon' status since November 16th. I live in Barcelona - Spain, too.

I would like to have some solution to this problem, when I buy some devices from a great company like Valve, I don´t expect this level of no info, no resolution. In most of the cases when some guy is in this situation, If Valve give us some new info, that It´s enough, but when I open a new ticket and several hours nobody answer it. I can´t be happy with that. On the other hand, I can´t understand how some guy who bought on last Friday, he has it on the way, and another one that he ordered it on thursday, he is still waiting for shipping status.
This small details makes the difference.

Made my purchase 72 minutes after launch, still stuck on packaged status. It is rather depressing seeing people in the same country/province order way later than I am get theirs first.
