Do you want a Windows platform that plays more than just games without the fuss of customization or do you want a dedicated Steam Platform?
Yes the Steam Deck can run Windows 11 - but frankly that's uncharted waters and you are subject to drivers being iffy.
So it comes down to a simple question as Red Baron pointed out - what games are you looking to play?
Frankly Id go with Steam Deck - it can only get better - and there's no fuss with windows.
Guess steam deck is fine then since every game i play is with steam. Apex legend, cod and some single player games.
Careful.
Not all "Steam Games" are playable - a good majority them are in the "yellow" zone - some fully supported - others not so much.
But as tech improves - and the OS matures - that list will grow.
Frankly I don't regret dropping the 700 on my LE OLED - means I didn't need to drop 3000 USD+ for a gaming laptop.
Portable Gaming PC for a fraction of the cost - in-spite of the minor difficulties?
"Sold"
The lenovo legion has it and removable controllers and one of the controllers can function like a mouse. Pretty cool tho and same price as the asus ally. But my experience with lenovo isnt that great. And since i play all my games with steam. I guess the steam deck is the best option.
Can you explain me why?
Each device has their drawbacks and/or limitations. If you don't understand that, you'll be unhappy. The Legion Go will provide the least challenges for someone who doesn't understand what they want.
One of the main selling points for the deck, outside of its now unbeatable battery run time, is that the software (more often than not) just works. Compare this to both the Asus and Lenovo options and its a mish mash of game level tweaks, windows level compromises, and third party software from Asus or Lenovo that tries to do an OK job of making up for all of the windows OS short comings on a mobile platform. Simply put, its a mess.
The deck is not perfect, but its far less a headache than keeping all the above in check and working regularly.
As for OP: Comes down to run time intentions -
Do you want a mobile entry-level desktop comparable that can also do *short* stents of gaming away from a plug or outlet? Go Z1 extreme. It will be near GTX1650 and R5/i5 comparable but mobile. Just dont plan for more than 1 hour of AAA games or maybe 2-3 of light titles on battery.
On the other hand, if you plan to play for long time frames mobile go Steam Deck. Its a good machine, performs well for what it is. Where the Z1e is a solid 1080p game option the Deck is a solid 720p game option (which is why it works well with an 800p screen). Where the deck cant be beat is run time. Think 2-3hrs of a AAA like starfield, or 4-5hrs or more of light titles. The battery is 50wh, if you keep your power draw at 11w or less you can get over 4.5hrs.
I went deck, have not been unhappy.
