Cleaning
  • Use a dry microfiber cloth to clean the display.
  • Use a small amount of isopropyl alcohol with a dry cloth to clean external plastic surfaces.
  • Do not use isopropyl alcohol or other liquids when cleaning around heatsink and fan vents, input wells (around buttons, trackpads, and thumbsticks), speakers, or ports. Use a dry cloth only.
  • Avoid using compressed air devices to clean the heatsink and fan vents, as this may interfere with internal components.

Micro fibers and just water are really good. Window cleaners sprayed onto the micro fiber cleans the screen. I wouldnt use alcohol based as it could damage it.
Glass cleaners are more gentle and designed to simply remove any fingerprints and oil.
The same on you use on your car windscreen . Vinager is very good.
But remember dont put too much pressure on the screen.

Could just use the microfiber cloth that comes with the device

Any microfiber cloth will be fine. Don't use cleaners with ammonia or alcohol. If a little water on the cloth doesn't get it as clean as you like, look for a glass cleaner that doesn't contain either of those two compounds listed above.

Unless Valve has changed the contents of each Deck package, the cleaning cloth is included with the 512GB model only.

Like others have said, microfibers work. You should remember to replace/clean your microfiber occasionally. I use a small automotive microfiber (it's obviously bigger than the little patch-microfibers), and it's easier to wash because it's not a tiny thing to lose easily.

Use it with clean hands and you're fine. Eating chocolate while playing is fine for the soul but sticks to the screen. A damp cloth, probably soaked with a bit of warm water - no cleaners needed.

Every new device I’ve ever bought, the screen cleaning involves alcohol and a microfiber cloth… for the first week or so. After that, it’s either breath fog or spit and whatever shirt I happen to be wearing.

Hasn’t let me down yet.

One suggestion i want to add. The type of ISOPROPYL ALCOHOL i would use would be 90% proof or higher due to the evaporation rate it is. The faster it can evaporate, the better as it leaves less smearing and dries very fast...so anything above 90% or higher. I use this to clean all my classic games too, including my super nintendo cartriges as i was taught by a store i used to shop at on how to do this that specialized in classic games.
