Wii U and the Steam Deck
Wii U and the steam Deck
Ok i owned the steam deck for about a year and loving it but i always wondered. Is their a setting that allows me to use it like a Wii U. What i mean is with games that have split screen. where the main Monitor is player 1 and my steam Deck could be payer 2 instead of say having a line down the middle seperating the screens. Of maybe if Valve ever takes suggestions IF it was possible that might be something to look into because honestly it was one of the Wii U's best features. I played many hours on Hyrule warriors that way.

BTW I'm not asking about emulation or anything like that. I own games like outward, EDF 4, and a few other games that have built in split screen. I would just like to have player 2 on the steam deck to player one gets to have full scren.

The only way without explicit game support (which isn't there because most customers don't have two screens) is normal multiplayer over the Internet. So one player launches their copy of the game on the desktop, and the other player launches their copy of the game on the Deck. Remote Play Together might work for some games, but others may well be traditional split-screen.

Is there a way to us Remote play Together with yourself on the same account. I mean so i could be on my tower and request for my deck to play.

Remote Play Together needs two accounts (but not necessarily two copies of the game, I think?). Remote Play only needs one account, but the display is mirrored between devices.

Remote Play is useful - so you can still play on the Deck on the sofa or in bed or wherever, with your other computer doing all the heavy lifting - but not what you're after.
