how to use controller for unsupported games?
i managed to run an unsupported game (Berserk), everything is fine but i can only use the steam deck controls itself, i can't use a controller.
how can i change that?

Enable Steam Input and edit the layout to your liking. The Steam Deck has so many buttons that it's quite easy to set up Steam Input to function with a game that does not have native controller support.

Additionally, Steam Input allows for the ability to create macros; so you can set up multiple functions per button; which if you understand what I'm saying, is INCREDIBLY powerful.

And for clarity, a game being rated as Unsupported doesn't affect the control options at all - although having bad control options is the kind of thing that will get a game rated as Unsupported. The Steam Input toys are applicable to all games run through Steam, even ones that aren't from the Steam store.

It's likely not Steam Input specifically, but just that the game itself only recognizes one controller. You might check this thread:

There was a workaround that was posted in there to make the Steam Deck controller emulate keyboard/mouse in the game specific controller configuration. If the game sees it as keyboard mouse, it should then recognize the next connected controller. Might be something to test.

I recall doing something of the sort for a game a while back. It did work; but mouse sensitivity via use of the joystick was a bit touchy; but after some serious fine tuning everything seemed to work like a charm!

Doesn't really let me edit the layout
