Battery drain in sleep mode
This behavior started yesterday.
My battery was over 90%, so I unplugged and went to bed. Next day, it was dead.
Today, I picked it up fully charged in the morning, did a few things here and there, and now, 21:46, the battery is 17%.

yes the battery continues to drain in sleep mode. Turn off your deck if your leaving it over night , or for a long while , I have found it drains quicker in sleep if you suspend it whilst a game is running than if your just sat at the steam menus.

While it does drain the battery in sleep mode, it's pretty slow; it should drain around 10% per day. If it goes from 90% to dead overnight, you may either have a bad battery, or something may be causing it to not actually go to sleep.

You could try placing it in airplane mode (turn off wifi & bluetooth) if you're going to put it in sleep. Those are battery drainers even when it sleeps.

WiFi and Bluetooth do not work when the deck is sleeping.

I think it might be a plugin I installed from Decky Loader that may be causing it. I'm doing some tests

I also think this is a serious issue. If you leave it for some days, it will be completely empty what'S really bad for the batteries lifetime. Switch does this way better.

Are you talking about normal sleep drain or excessive drain reported by the thread author? The sleep mode is not designed for long duration, perhaps a day or two tops. If you know you won't be playing for a while, you shut it down.

Seem the issue is gone, at least for now. I disabled the plugins, and re-enabled them, and it seems it's working fine. Maybe something was preventing it from going to sleep mode properly.

if sleep is intended for only short periods (say 24h), then it should turn off automatically in some time to save battery life.

It will lose some battery charge, but should not be even close to 80% over one night.

Not true. In the OLED version part of the Bluetooth ship stay alive to allow, for example, controllers to wake the Deck up, the battery used for this is negligible though.

Sure, then you would come here and complain that your game was closed just because you needed a few more hours before picking the Deck back to play.
It is up to you to shut it down if you know it will be a long time before you can play again.

Well it was true when I wrote it in MARCH.

Did not notice the dates. Why people keep doing that?

Thus why necro'ing nearly year old dead threads is bad form. :steamfacepalm::steammocking:

Also, SewerShark was a fun game. I miss my OG SegaCD

Did anyone find a solution for this? I haven't a clue what could be causing it.

When in sleep mode, the back of my Deck does feel warm meaning something is running in the background in sleep mode.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
