Replacement to the 45W power adaptor UK
Lets face it most technology these days have pitifully short cables and the steam deck although ok it just stretches enough when I plug it in to where it is stored.

I have seen the Anker Nano III 45 charger at Amazon

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Charger-Anker-Adapter-Supported-Compact-Black/dp/B091J4ZZ2G

Would this charger be ok for the deck or am I going to have to "make do"

Get yourself an extension cable? I will probably do that.

I got a power bank that comes with a good charger (https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08P4J2Z7R) and a longer USB cable. The charger & cable work fine with the Deck, and if I'm not close to a socket I can plug into the power bank instead.

I picked up the Anker nano 65 watt which you can then use to power a hub as well. Only a few quid more on amazon. It didn't come with a cable though.

I use the Nano 65W and it works great although a bit overkill for the Deck. The 45W should be fine.

It's really stupid that Valve didn't make the cable detachable. It;s literally E-waste.

Anker nano 2 looks legit. I will pick it up soon.

@DeathAxe I have a few of the Anker Nano III 65W and they work great (use them for phones, tablets, etc. haven't got my Deck yet). IMO they are probably the best manufacture of GaN chargers. Their products have a very good fit & finish to them and are well built.

I'm a bit worried that the amazon listing doesn't list "PD" or PD2.0 or PD3.0, but the fact that it works for a bunch of people ... and at least some of the products in the picture likely use PD of some sort is heartening.

If you're trying to decide between the 45W and the 65W, consider that most docks don't come with their own power ... and that if you power the dock with 45W, only roughly 35W (or less) is left to power the deck. If you pick the 65W, it will still be able to deliver 45W to your deck.

(this is because most docks require some power (between 5W and 20W) for their own use --- depending on their number of ports and the power they offer on those ports)

Anker uses the term "IQ", it's a combination of PD and their proprietary charging tech.
