How to get native games to be native?
Hi, everytime i play a native linux game its always running off of Proton, like Warhammer 3 or Deus Ex Mankind Divided, how can i download the right version?
Is there a launch command maybe?

Set the compatibility tool to be Steam runtime, that's a bunch of Linux-native libraries.

The Deck Verified process tests both native and Windows versions and (in principle) picks the one that works best on the Deck; that's the one that gets installed. For Warhammer 3 that's the Windows version through Proton, and for Mankind Divided that's the native version.

i did, and now its reinstalling the game, is this it?

understood thanks, but on protonDB it seems that the native version performs better , at least thats what people say, plus i dont really care about multiplayer which is problematic on linux it would seem...

Well, it has to download another build of the game now.

Also, keep in mind that cloud saves often will not be setup cross-builds so if you have the native Linux build installed on Steam Deck its cloud saves likely will not sync to the Windows build you might have installed on another PC.

If you're only playing on Linux then you shouldn't have any issues doing what ReBoot said to install the native build, which it seems you've done.
