Devil May Cry 5 does not recognize the controller

Devil May Cry 5 does not recognize the controller when running on Steam deck. The default configuration is used to start the game, but the controller cannot be used to activate the menu on the main interface. Only the mouse can be used. What is the reason? Is it possible that there is a problem with the cloud sync archive controller configuration?

So basically the built in controller of steam deck? Have you tested it with any other game? Does it only not work with Devil Man Cry or does it not work on any other games? Have you updated your steam deck too? Also, test the steam deck controller with other games and see if it works.

Other games run perfectly, even the emulator runs more efficiently than Devil May Cry 5

Im not talking about how the games run. Im asking about the controller functionality on games. Does the controller built into steam deck work on other games?

Yes it can, the steamos version is up to date, the controller has no problem, it only doesn't work in Devil May Cry 5.

Ok, try this. Uninstall devil man cry 5. Reinstall it. BEFORE PLAYING GAME, make sure to restart your steam deck. Then after it starts up, make sure to verify the files for devil man cry 5. Then if everything looks good, start up the game.

Maybe the game just needed a restart. Some games be that way.

Try a different input mapping. Some default gamepad one always is a good candidate.

Yea, i told them to restart the steam deck. I hope they fixed it.

Assuming his problem is the same as mine, then restarting steam won't change anything. It's only the game that needs a restart for me.

I found the solution! Basically what you need to do is go to properties and make it compatible with an older version of proton. It’s just an issue with that— 6.3 should work.

Found the solution! It’s an issue with the proton files. Just change it back a version
