Can't load GTA V save on deck
I have the steam version of the game, when I start it on steam deck it starts the story mode from the beginning. I tried installing rockstar launcher on steam deck desktop mode and logging in but it still won't work. Is it because the steam deck runs on linux? Do I need to install windows on it for the rockstar cloud syncing to work? Thanks in advance for any help

No. GTA doesn't run natively - you're running the Windows version. Your issue is just general jank from Rockstar having their own launcher shenanigans rather than just properly using Steam Cloud saves.

I see, thanks for explaining. So there's nothing I can really do?

If you look at the GTA V Steam page, it does not list Steam Cloud support. You will have to manually sync you saved game files if you want to keep your Deck and PC synced. There are some programs that can help.

I know, but rockstar launcher has it's own cloud sync option which I have enabled

I have not tried any of them, but there are some suggestions in the following thread:

So I came here before I got it to work. I had already saw it wasn't steam cloud saves. And uses its own. Which I freaking hate. But it's GTA I'm not surprised.

So this is what happened. On the deck when you hit back and right bumper it brings up the social club thing. Go to settings icon go to game settings and select cloud saves. Mine was actually turned on on the deck.

Next launch your PC and launch it bring up social club with the actual key that says home on keyboard. Lol I've never clicked that button in my life. Anyway do the same thing. My cloud saves were actually off here.

The thing is that's not even good enough. It took me a little longer to get it working. If that's turned off when you turn it on you have to actually play the game until it autosaves.

At this point when I went back to the Steam Deck and went in the game loaded me where I was supposed to be. Bam.

Was way stupider than if they just used Steam saves but it does work with cross saves. So yeh I got it working.

Hope this helps some one.

I had the same issue..installed gta 5 yesterday. Rockstar club login did not work for me because for whatever reason on desktop mode the keyboard wouldn't open. I did it in game mode and it worked fine. After that, it will work fine on desktop or game mode fine since rockstar club login no longer requires logging in.

Nothing. You could grab the save file from your pc and transfer it onto your deck. Is a pain if you Wana hop back and forth, but if you simply wanted to bring your save over to the deck it should work
