Having said that, it might just be a troublesome or temporary network issue, and everything will be fine once that's resolved.
It is Master Gabe plan to make you double dip and get thay Steam game with Steam tax.
Thanks for the replies though, hopefully it works this time.
If you pause the download, save the files and restart it, it will display the time correctly until it goes wonky again. It’s suppose to be better in Desktop mode but it’s pretty much still has issues.
People recommend just leaving it, and pausing/restarting when you want to know how it’s going. The Heroic devs are most likely aware since there’s been posts in the bug section.
It seriously just doesn’t like large GOG games but will install them fine.
i got a long ago "into the breach" from epic, and i was able to install and play it in linux using lutris.
some games may not, but many do: sometimes you just need to use the right version of proton and maybe additional settings. in many cases you just need to research what others have tried, and maybe try something new if nothing works. sometimes just using a more recent version of proton is all that is needed; sometimes only an outdated version will work. depends if the game is recent or not, if it needs a launcher, etc.
i advice to avoid heroic.
It was either yesterday or today.
Oh that explains a lot. Thanks for the update. I managed to install cyberpunk with the heroic launcher, and had no problems. It also runs perfectly. Although the battery only lasts about 2 hours! I've tried using the performance tweaks in steam but they don't seem to have an effect on non stream games. I've also tried running it at the steam deck in game graphics settings, which had no effect either. Kind of annoying, but i can understand the reasons.
