Do you mean the JSAUX Dock ;) ?
If yes there is no need to do that or why you even want to update something that is basically just a USB-C Hub in another form factor

Yes jsaux made a new firmware

We're Upgrading Our Steam Decks's Docking Stations Firmware
As always, your feedback is very valuable to us, so let us know if you encounter any issues with this new firmware.

Hello, everybody!

If you have been closely following our latest releases, you should be aware that we recently launched a new Docking Station for Steam Deck (codename HB0604), that features an M.2 SSD storage slot. But today we’re not here to talk about this brand new piece of hardware but the ones that we released previously and that you can actually order through our store. Yes, we’re referring to the Docking Station and the Upgraded Docking Station.

We have recently worked on a firmware upgrade for both Docking Stations to increase its compatibility with LG televisions and monitors. You can download this new firmware HERE. With this new firmware we want to show our customers that we are focused and committed to improving our lineup of Docking Stations. To us, every client matters and that’s why we thrive to give you the best possible experience.

As always, your feedback is very valuable to us, so let us know if you encounter any issues with this new firmware.

You need to connect the dock to an windows PC
With USB C
If you dont have an USB C port, you need to buy an adapter

Mot user wont be able to use the firmware
Why even make the firmware?

SteamDeck are not supported

There's the Linux Vendor Firmware Service - https://fwupd.org/ - that will host firmware and let every Linux machine use it. JSAUX apparently didn't research that before they made a Windows-only firmware updater for their accessory that's intended to be used only with Linux machines. They've obviously been made aware of it since.

I did have a USB C port, on my motherboard, so i can open the case, and connect the dock, and update it
Not great, but it works

This is the correct answer.

A Windows updater app is okay to have in addition because a lot of Deck users also have Windows PCs, but this *has* to be there. You need to be able to update the dock's firmware from the Deck itself, and you also need to keep the other, smaller segment of Deck users--Linux enthusiasts--from being left out in the cold.

It was a Type E connector
Hmm
1 x USB 3.2 Gen 1 connector (supports USB Type-C®)

Maybe if i disconnect the power from the dock, it can find the dock?

If your talking about a USB header or a cable from it then yeah you can plug USB devices into it that way. Headers are generally used to expand the case ports. I don't see why it would not work as it literally states (supports USB Type-C®).

Edit: Mine was disconnected from the mains when it was updating. The only thing supplying power was the USB.
