Nope.
If you have any issues with Wifi, try using a USB-C to Ethernet adapter (or a USB-C dock which has an RJ11 port (ethernet) on it) and manually plug your SteamDeck into your router or network switch or whatever device your using to connect to the internet and if your still getting connection problems, you may need to go directly to Valve's support page to see if they can fix your problem...
Easy fix : Enable Developper mode and then disable "Wi-Fi power saving mode"
Immediately fixed the wifi speed, downloading at 40MB/s now...
Enjoy :)
I could download at 40/50MB/s with my 5GHz network but the connection instantly drops after 10 seconds, every time. on every channel. Which makes the 5GHz unusable on my Deck (which is the only one that doesn't maintain a healthy connection with the 5GHz network).
So... Here I am with my slowbutt wifi, trying to download 50+GBs games... :(
Steam is aware of my issue though, but still no fix or whatsoever.
Hope this is helpful for someone (another suggestion is to make a new dedicated wireless SSID in a walled-garden with custom DNS of 1.1.1.1 and 8.8.8.8- that works too)
The quickest / easiest work around for me was to
* switch to desktop mode
* open the kwrite program from the start menu on the desktop
* open your /etc/resolv.conf and change the first entry to the IP of the nameserver you want to use and save the file and then you can switch back to game mode and be gtg until your next reboot
for example:
Old:
nameserver 192.168.1.1 (or whatever your pihole IP is)
New:
nameserver 1.1.1.1 (or whatever your ISP or preferred DNS IP is)
You are a genius, this helped me. Went from max 2Mbps to 24Mbps.
It also makes sense, it would start insanely speedy and settle down quickly at max 2Mbps. It had to do something with the WiFi adapter itself.
*Edit* So after 5 minutes or so it was back at old snail speed.
Tried to open `/etc/resolv.conf`, it showed a weird primary DNS server changed it to my router. Now my download speed is correct again, it's 33MBs
I tried switching the region for downloads. I tried using dev tools mode to turn off wifi power saving. I tried plugging into ethernet by wire. None of those worked.
What worked for me was setting my router DNS to defaults. I had the DNS set for PiHole. I'll have to figure out that one later.
