Steam Deck

Steam Deck

Steam deck case idea.
A new case, where it holds the steam deck, and 2 controllers!

The deck on the bottom, and 2 controllers next to each other on top!

My point was, if you want to lug around a ton of stuff you can buy one of those cases (or a size to suit) and you've got what you need. An added bonus is they're also rugged, waterproof and can be customised however you need.

well, my idea is it would be the same as the current steam deck case, but the top be taller to hold 2 steam controllers.
(((((((Implying anyone who actually has a steam controller has 2 of em))))))))))

i want to get a 2nd one, only about 40 - 50 for just the controller on ebay.

Hopefully they'll bring out a new non-infringing version based on the design of the Deck.

Think this could fit 1 steam deck, and 2 steam controllers? https://www.amazon.com/PFC-120-080-038-5SF-Plastic-Carrying-Black/dp/B013UCNUHE/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=Water+Resistant+Case+with+Foam+Insert+-+357mm+x+470mm+x+176mm&qid=1635192547&sr=8-2

I'd personally go for a single layer because I wouldn't like the thought of two controllers laying on top of my deck. You probably also want to consider a spot for power, dock and cables as I assume you'll be plugging the deck into a TV for co-op play.

And if you want to be super prepped why not get a small keyboard and mouse in there too.

Well, for little trips and rides in the car, to a restrount, etc, I wouldn't need to bring power, dock, cables, etc. With 2 steam controllers in the case, I can just prop it up on say, a table at olive guarden, then me and my family can play some split screen action!

Not only would that be nice ... It would also help us switch between PC & the Deck having developed our muscle-memory around the Deck's extra inputs. And for those who might not be able to afford a Deck, they could still reap the controller benefits.

And, given the parts used, Valve would have the purchasing/manufacturing volume for the more consumable parts like sticks, pads, triggers, etc.

Totally a win-win for Valve & the player community.

I'd guess a new controller will be announced once they either see Steam Deck sales level off to allow a diversion of parts or they can source more parts. I'm sure they're also very busy launching Steam Deck to focus on another hardware item.

So will that case work?

Sure, go walk around in public with a guncase that has 2 bigass controllers and a steam deck in it (which comes with its own carrying case!). Not sure if constant pressure will be good for the controllers or if they will stay in place at all but you're free to try it out
