The PCVR2 version I believe was taken up by another company and not officially IOI.
meaning any updates you see to that game, will not be coming to PCVR.
this VR's game version was a PSVR 1 port, with no love or affection given to it.

it has been dead in the water for the last I wanna say 4+ years.
unless you buy a quest/meta/psvr2 you're not getting the updates for this game.
its forever dead sad to say, they don't care about it. or PCVR as its not a market they wanna explore.
but a new update quickly broke that entirely, and the modding tools are so garbage to work with or even attempt, its not worth the hassle at all to even attempt to mod this game other then just your basic texture/model changes.
It's the Quest version that was done externally. PSVR 2 version was developed by IOI.
weapons and dizzying localisation is painful. Really hope the PSVR2 update comes to PCVR as the weapon dynamics look substantially better.
IO Interactive developed the PSVR2 version of the game. That said, you are probably right, the new version may never come to PC. Though one can remain hopeful all the same.
