Demo still not working

Hey, I saw that IOI posted on the fixed demo, but it is still not working for me.
No access to my Hitman 1-2 content, and game is still saving every 3 seconds.

we have been given the dlc for hitman 3 itself. access packs for h1/2 are shown as "in library" for me if i check the page for HITMAN Trilogy. something is up with the online connection still blocking access to legacy maps, but offline mode lets you play anything you own on the demo as it should

not to say how they've set up the free starter edition makes any sense, but they *have* given us the dlc in an extremely roundabout way

I can 100% guarantee that the issues being caused are inherently caused by the free access pass being a demo and that not until it is removed as a demo and brought to the store properly will it function. They can do all they want on their end to provide you with the files, but hitman 1 and 2 alone are a 120gb game. a 60gb demo is not going to be able to contain the files form hitman 1 and 2 in it. We literally have to install this content to our pc in order to play it. IOI can flag our accounts as owning this dlc..this will ping steams servers and attempt to install the dlc..
but guess what, it cannnot install the dlc..cuz there is no dlc for hitman free access pass.
No one can just play their hitman 1 and 2 content in hitman 3 free access pass without first installing it. The little message you see showing you that you own the content is just metdata, not actual files.

IT'S A BLEEPIN DEMO ISSUE. We are saying it is, because we know what we are talking about. sheesh.

just downloaded the thing. I can quite clearly see that I own all the content when I launch it, it then goes online and says "saving" at which pont my content disappears and it asks me to purchase it. Clicking on purchase brings me to the epic games store, because there is no store page for the steam demo of hitman 3 in order to buy the content..

yawn..next argument plz.

Wew your ignorance is showing.
Your only point is that Hitman 2 is a larger game in terms of filesize?
Yet you ignore the fact that they de-duplicated assets and used a different compression method ontop of that. The whole game is much smaller across the board.
The 60gb is the entire thing, are you aware of how many assets where in multiple maps, heck multiple chunks of the map.
Older console games duplicate those same assets on each map and each section of the map so slower drives can load it fast enough for the user.
Newer games is optimised for SSD's so they dont require dupe data like that.

Actually just double checked that statement i just made, Hitman 3 only got a SINGLE Steam Depot, a single download manifest. You got all the DLC and all the old content in the one singular download.
Meanwhile other games has a depot per dlc that requires downloads in between.

The full game and the demo is the same game files...

IOI set it as a steam demo instead of a free starter edition to avoid review bombing and either didn't realize there are hard coded limits through steam on demos or they just didn't care. At best its currently a preload option while you wait for a 50% off sale because a steam demo has a different app id and can't use dlc.

Why would you think they need DLC at all to do this? They already check if you got access to the old games with the Steam api inside the game itself. There is no reason at all to have a DLC entry here, its all ruled by the always online drm ♥♥♥♥ they have.

The "check" gives you the hitman 3 access pass for hitman 1 and hitman 2 content and those are dlc, if the steam demo doesn't care about dlc then its not going to recognize said access passes. Its really not that hard to understand.

They say they fixed the demo but it actually isn't working? Oh. I'm still downloading the demo to see for myself if they fixed it... Feels like a waste of 60 GB if they didn't fix it yet.

if you download the demo ahd you purchse the game, the demo transform to full game and you dont need to download anything, i dont know what they did with the engine but the size with all content (Hitman 1 and 2 included) is around 64gb.

You can access the H2 maps if you launch steam offline. It's a bug with the servers.

How is this still not fixed? I do not want to blame the developers completely, but it seems like they are only tackling one issue a day and than calling it quits for the day. Today's "solved" issue was the free DLC for purchasers and now they are going to put out the fire that's causing tomorrow.

Why are there even server issues, Hitman 3 has been out for a year already everything should be ironed out.
