Ooooooooh Madmind, I think you done goofed this time.
I mean, steam could be presenting a roadblock; but why did a roadblock only show up on the day they were going to go live, on a vr version of a game that's already up, which contains nothing more explicit than what steam is already drowning in?
Add onto that it's not the first time they've had launch issues on steam.
If steam is the roadblock, it's only because they didn't learn anything from their last few attempts at publishing.
The public radio silence is also raising plenty of red flags.
They did do the smart thing, however, and didn't run pre-purchasing, so there's at least a good reason to attribute incompetence over malice.
So, I'm a big dumb dumb and it is in fact Gabe.
Ideally I'd have liked the whole game but it seems like it was cut down to some minigames and the sex stuff.
That could be the reason Agony VR is still here (well, at least the steam page is...) as that's more a straight up port of Agony to VR.
i waited everyday of succubus vr release and i will have so much fun of that like of the minigames, sex scenes and much more.
currently i have so many madmind games on my wishlist and lets hope it will not banned like succubus vr...
it make me rly sad now and lets hope it come back.
maybe is an unrated patch available for the minigames and more sex scenes like succubus unrated dlc.
sry for my bad english
If they can get it back on my Steam my guess is they may have to go the route they did with Succubus, where they release it censored, had a "mod" on their website you can download to remove the censorship, and later get through steam to just update the game.
I've seen a couple game go this route, which is absolute ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ considering how so many outright porn games never have to.
If even Steam has outright banned in they may have to go through the old school route of self publish and distribute. We'll know more when they put out an official statement.
Just remember if you cave and start censoring again and cutting into the game, another failure it will be.
And steam could have turned around and axed Succubus VR for a number of reasons. They had issues launching Succubus, this time there wasn't even a demo involved. How much of what's in the game did steam actually know about before they wanted to launch? Could it have something to do with the intense, graphic hardcore sex scenes combined with the brutal violence and gore? Very few steam games combine these, fewer still will put you in the direct skin of the person doing it via VR.
Steam banning it is a huge downer and something they need to rethink considering what gets on steam with no issues, but there is no doubt in my mind that Madmind has not quite figured out how to navigate launching a game on time with the platform, and just launching on time being an issue means there's other things they're not understanding about the process.
It's not just sex, it's not just painfully realistic, brutal violence. It's the two combined in ways that get even animated movies banned from entire countries. It's weird to say it, but if you actually look at what's being presented, against what came before, the only way to get more edge-lordery and push boundaries any further, is to make the final level of Postal 1 into a full game. We're talking about the most AO rating, of all AO ratings getting onto steam.
Be mad, but don't be mad at steam. I can say day in and out that these are hurdles Madmind should have been jumping over months ago, but what's really frustrating about the situation is that it's been a week, and I had to pester them on twitter all day just to get them to say anything. That shows an inability to be open and flexible. And if they're struggling with openness, honesty, and flexibility with the people who purchase their products, you know for a fact they're struggling with it when it comes to verification for sale.
Again, it sucks, but it's the nature of the beast, and stop taking time off work for a videogame. Use sick days for when you need them. Use vacation days for something that matters. Don't take personal time, for a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ videogame.

Talking about Succubus VR - isn't it really the same like Vydija cave after you finish the Succubus game?
Oh guys who decide what we can buy and what not please become an adult person and let us fans alone - it is just a game - only a game nothing more. I repeat it is only a game - I'm a manager and I took a lot of responsibility every day I was working and I got an wife - and yes I like and I enjoy to play madmind studios games. What please tell me what do you want to prevent from me in order to decide not to publish Succubus VR?
Sorry but things have to be told.
