No controller support?
Anyone else not able to use a controller now? i Have an xbox controller and wired 8bitdo. Works on any other games. I was able to for a good bit. Now steam sees it but no input.

Found a fix? Hold Select + Start whilst the controller is connected, it should rumble.
Apparently you can configure the controllers inputs manually, Xinput is Select + X.

Weird, have a look at this guide. https://www.reddit.com/r/8bitdo/comments/10y77fm/ultimate_bluetooth_controller_xinputdinputswitch/

Disable steam input, & it should work now.

I'll try the above, still no luck. Google tells me it uses a windows based input system that's new and not patched to Linux yet? I have the current driver's and I'm having no issues on any other games.

You didn't think this was an important component of your request for support?
Not really as I have controller support on any other game I own...so it pointed to a game specific issue likely.

Read the top and bottom of my post, it explains everything:

If you have a DualSense controller, you're going to want Special K, because it translates the game's Impulse Triggers to PlayStation Adaptive Triggers.

If you have anything else, then you need the standalone DLL listed at the bottom.

It's broken for many Windows users too.

You can't use Steam Input to translate non-Xbox controllers to GameInput, and you need the GameInput server running. DS4Windows is sufficient to get NIntendo Switch and PlayStation controllers working, Steam Input can't handle this API.

The standalone DLL in my post will work whether you're on Linux or Windows.

You have to use shady utilities to do what normal operating systems do in their sleep
GameInput doesn't ship with any version of Windows.

I have xbox and an 8bitdo. Im pretty new at linux and cant seem to find an install guide for special K or how to use that dll file shown. Would you mind telling me how to use that dll file to at least get my xbox controller going? Does the dll get put into the game directory like with windows?

Yes, that is all you need to do.

Well I found the installation page and did exactly as it said with the file and then the launch command but still nothing. Might be something we wait for in a patch I guess. Sigh.
