understandable. Have a good day.

This issue isnt the saves, its going from 60+ FPS down to 3 when flying around. Means I cant suggest this to friends. Now that everyone will have to start again people airships wont be as complex so it will look like its ok, when you havent fixed it.
If you're so certain that's how it will be, do something about it. Play after the update, build another big ship, and document the performance hits (including the full specs of the rig you played on). Then pass all that data on to the devs in the bugs forum here and/or at their own website so they actually have something to go on.
Break the saves, that's what early access is for! I literally signed up for this lol. If that's what's needed to proceed on the game, I am all for it and still all in.
Classic PR speak; this is well written, I'm sure it will win a lot of people over.

Yeah, pr speak.
Totally not changing the gameplay so much it'll be too hard to make ALL saves compatible.

I work in IT on data management and analytics , trust me , I know, its okay, and this a decent way to force player base to start from fresh and enjoy game with new features. After all the biggest issue with the game is indeed optimization.
Great, almost another game to play! No problem for me.

Does this mean the game is complete with story and content, or are we still wasting time upgrading our ship for no apparent reason. Also, forcing everyone to lose their saves just so they have to play your game all over again is hysterical. It’s no wonder v1.0 was rushed and game is headed to consoles to recoup those dev funds. What a joke. As stated in previous comments, player count shows the truth about the game and releasing it on consoles will only make it worse when there’s no actual content to play. Definitely not what was originally advertised. You made us all think it was Subnautica in the clouds when it’s basically a ship upgrade simulator. “Keep flying through an RNG world upgrading for ship for no reason at all.” This has been THE biggest disappointment of a KS funded campaign I have ever backed. I pray the studio has to make cuts and the CM loses his job. You can quit trying to add me on Twitter to DM me, it will NEVER happen. My money, my opinion. Forever✌️

Hi, I have no idea why you hold such hatred for me, even wishing I become jobless and unable to support myself and my family, that's pretty disgusting, dude. Especially considering it was you who caused the drama in the Discord server, the community and I simply told you to stop. The conversations haven't been removed, they're still there to see for clarity.

But yeah, I have attempted to reach out to you since because before that, I believed you were actually a good guy—I still do—and I wanted to let you know that you were welcome to come back, we had some good conversations back when you first joined the server. I'm a big believer in burying the hatchet. Life is too short for grudges. I'll always try to go the extra mile as a CM.

As for your comments about the game. No we're not in 1.0 yet. This reset is being done for the co-op update in a few weeks. 1.0 is launching at the start of 2025. I don't know when you last played, but maybe consider trying the game out soon either with co-op or with 1.0, a lot has changed and a lot has been added. There is also a post from a few weeks ago that tells you about *some* of the features we're working on for full release (which also mentions moving away from RNG and proc gen somewhat.)

I hope you're doing well.

I was going to start over anyway.
For whatever it's worth - roll it out and fingers crossed for a smooth jump into co-op. All of us early access supporters should know it can be a bumpy ride. I'm happy you guys are adding functionality (as opposed to abandoning unfinished games) and looking forward to test this gem with a friend.
to the ones crying "my saves": there was always the high chance that an update was going to erase all that progress. Besides you should be looking forward to the new things and all the changes even if you're not going to be rolling through the game with a friend.

to the devs: You guys do the best you can with this game. I'm not hurt over losing my saves. If anything I'm looking forward to the update and potentially being able to play this game with friends. Also PLEASE say that we will be able to make multiple airship control points (rudders or whatever the thing is actually called) cause I'd like to have at least 2 of them.

If you're talking about a "control panel" where you can steer the ship from, the best nautical equivalent would be "helm"

A "rudder" is one or more vertical vanes extending from the back of a vessel, hinged so they can swing to the right or left, causing the vessel to rotate accordingly. On simpler vessels where the rudder control is simply a lever attached to the rudder(s) rather than a wheel, that control lever would be the "tiller"
i'm okay with that.
you guys got this.
much love <3

I expected to need to restart when the progression is going to be so vastly overhauled. IMO, it'd be a miracle if the save was compatible out of the box. Still, having a legacy is a good option. Looking forward to the new stuff.

Actually a little sneak peek for the update, but we did change the Rudder name to Helm...finally xD
