Medical Bed questions
Jasper approaches the bed, arm held to his side, a rictus of pain on his face from his brief but excrutiating encounter with the toxic gnarl.

*you must use preternatural nucleus to use*

He reads the display with a sigh; and crosses the space to retrieve his supply; one gathered so carefully from the same plant that had nearly done him in. He places 30 of them in the bed; certain he will need it again.

*May as well be prepared for the future.* He thinks as he lays inside the bed; and feels the warmth of the scanner as it quite oddly focuses on his crotch region. Then the organic tissue repair pulse begins and though it is bright, and lingers a while; he doesn't feel any better than he had. When he emerges, his arm is still quite pained.

What's more; when he checks the reservoir of the preternatural nuclei; he finds it empty.

1. the medical bed used ALL of the preternatural nuclei I placed inside it (30 in total). I wonder if this is supposed to do that. (I highly doubt it)
2. It seems a very high price indeed for healing; especially since the bed didn't even heal me.
3. Nor did I get the immunity resistance bonus as touted by the mission log.

What's up with that? Can anyone tell me?

The medical bed should give you the Immunity Booster effect at the cost of 15 or 20 Preternatural Nuclei, I forget exactly. If you didn't get the booster effect, that sounds like a bug.

The general healing function consumes preturnatual nuclei continuously until you exit the bed, and healing this way can be quite expensive, especially if you aren't good at the "find the injured regions" minigame (which I suspect you didn't execute correctly, if you didn't get healed). By contrast, healthkits are very cheap to craft, especially in this version of the game. I believe the bed will also cure viral infections, but again, it is very expensive for this purpose compared to the craftable medicines. So in general, unless you have a lot of spare Preternatural Nuclei, I would just craft the Immunity Booster and the various medicines.

Edit: if you have just finished your first Infected Greenhouse, the story interaction Phoenix Cat mentions won't be available, so that wasn't the problem. The story point in question is after you have crafted the [special end-game medicine] and the game asks you to check if it worked.

FYI I play with controller, so it's square to use the bed, but I doubt that makes a difference. All I did was tap the square button, and it went through the process; I assumed it was doing what it was supposed to.

No, it didn't launch a minigame; which I find to be annoying BTW.

And yeah, I can get chitin, make the hemorrhagic fever, make the immunity booster without an issue, and I rarely get hurt enough to require a medkit, so I have lots of them kicking around. That wasn't the problem.

I just finished the quest to find the data about the plant (on that toxic/infected tower) where you have to have that immunity. Thought I would kill 2 birds with one stone and build that bed (which required an expansion to my airship) so I could cure my damage and get the immunity all at once. (It was after I got the data). Then I got the quest to find the plants to make the cure.

Doesn't only give the Immunity Boost after you find the cure?? I never noticed getting the boost until after that. I also deleted my message because yours had more information.

No, you should be able to use it to get the Immunity Boost at any time, as long as you have enough preturnatural nuclei.

That probably wasn't necessary; you mentioned some things that other people might run into, even if they probably weren't affecting this specific case, and some of those people might look in this thread for information sometime. :)
Mine only uses 10 so idk
Maybe this helps. The other day, I also thought my pn disappeared, 90 of them, but when I refilled they were still there, just not visible.
