Bad stuttering
Getting some really bad stuttering while travelling in my airship, so going forward or descending and ascending is there a optimization issue. I've reduced my settings from epic to high and turned off vsync and motion blur but doesn't change a thing. When i originally played way back when the game first appeared on Steam it ran beautifully ofc im aware a lot more has gone into the game since then, also i have a pretty decent setup, drivers are upto date and i only use my PC for gaming.

This issue seems to be getting worse the further i progress its kinda strange.

Guys if no one else noticed FACT you are warned that anything over 1080 is NOT supported by the game and are advised to lower your resolution. If you did not do this like me then yeah you likely have it because you ignored that warning.
Personally I am not playing in 1080 on a 2k monitor but that is me. I will suffer the stutters. Clearly this is a lower budget game for weak end PCs.
My game seems to be destroyed since I did not know you can go down but can not go up at all. ROFL. So I am below everything. That added to the fact they do not support 2k tells me volumes about the game when it is set to come out of Early Access.
I got my 20+hrs in long ago so not a total waste but will not buy from this dev again.

I responded to your issues related to altitude in your previous post :)
As for additional resolutions above 1080, the tech devs within our production team are working on performance to try and ensure these higher resolutions are available for full release.

Well I have had only minor stuttering that i easily ignore. Not surprised you get performance complaints with Co-op as that requires a bit more system resource does it not? Most people do not think of that. Also requires a stable internet connection.

I have had this game forever and getting back into it now that you are close to done. Last I played I played through to the end of the content that was there. Hoping that has been expanded a lot since then. Always nice to see someone close to the Dev team or on the Dev team responding to people.

Just recently played trough this again, and i had some huge performance issues in underdust areas. I don't remember it being this bad when i played earlier, but can't swear on that.

No problems on the airship, though.

This with i7 and RTX3080 on 3440x1440 resolution.

As stated by FFH_Greg in the post. The team is working on the higher resolutions about 1080p to optimize them. The next update will be the full release. Things should be better after that. The full release on PC and PS5 is still planned for first half of this year. Lots of things are coming in that release along with the optimization.
ToJKa 12 FEB a las 3:33 a. m.
Yes, i assumed that optimization has not been a huge priority yet. Looking forward to full release, that is happening sooner than i though.

...But seriously, who plays games in 1080p in 2025? :steammocking:
EDIT: Oh, 56% of people according to the latest Steam hardware survey. Welp. Joke's on me, then :steamhappy:

Seems to be an issue that relates to storage accesses.
Whenever the game tries to read data from hdd/ssd it starts to lag like hell.
Even with an NVME drive capable of way more than a GB/s it's like reading data from an IDE 33 HDD from 20 Years ago.

I'm adding in to the discussion. I normally run the game totally fine with high FPS 95% of the time on high graphic settings. But there are a few spots where framerate suddenly drops - like upper parts of elevators, wild underdust entrances (starts stuttering at the gate then suddenly stops stuttering the moment I take the path down). Overgrown garden tower also stutters heavy.
It is like there are a lot of polygons to render and the game renders them even when they are obscured by other things. Just move away from them and stuttering stops when the game drops the details.

My specs:
OS: Ubuntu 24.04.1 with Proton GE
CPU AMD Ryzen 5 7600
Motherboard MSI MAG B650 TOMAHAWK
GPU ASRock Challenger D Radeon RX 6600 8GB
Fast System Storage SAMSUNG 990 M.2 gen 4 Pro 1TB SSD
PSU Vero L5 Bronze 500W
RAM CORSAIR Vengeance DDR5 32GB (2x16GB) 6000MHz CL36

I seem to see a patern in all of these post. Majority of the people having issues are running Radeon cards. I am wondering of this is a driver issue of some kind? For the GPU or adrenaline.

Maybe. I also noticed this - sometimes the game literally stops for almost a second and I can literally hear my Radeon fan stopping (the case is close to me). Or it is CPU, not sure. It is like I hear it humming and when game stutters it goes silent and starts to roll right when the game starts responding. I thought it is because I am on fresh linux and was going to do some monitoring later, but here I am sharing. Maybe same thing happens on Windows? Anyways I am on Mesa 24.2.8 driver.

Well there goes that idea. Was just tossing stuff out. Sorry you are also having issue.

The devs assigned to "tech" in our production team are doing a lot of work on performance for the full release. We've had a lot of players say that performance is better for them with recent hotfixes but I know there are still some players getting poor performance.

A lot of the performance issues started to kick into high gear after we added co-op to the game. But our team are hard at work to bring performance back in-line.

Good-to-know Update of the status of the game and the problem/trouble shooting being done .. Thanks.
