It's called a socket and iirc you unlock it with pipes

there is a connector ( pipe socket ) that goes through the wall or floors etc , you make it in the Fabricator

I did not know that, though I wondered what they were for. Thankyou very much..

Okay, so I finally got it all connected, but I have a question. Is the water generator supposed to refill the water tank..? I have it all connected right, but it's not filling the tank..

yes generator goes to tank , tank to sprinklers , did you put the yellow filter ( pipe connected membrane in the generator? there are arrows on all items when using pipe connector make sure the arrows go in the flow of water , so from gen arrow away in direction on tank , tank arrow on inlet goes in direction of tank , output on tank arrow away from tank indirection of sprinkler ok there is also arrows on pipes when you put them down make sure they (pipes) turn from light gray ( which is NOT connected to a dark brown show that the pipes are connected and arrow are going inline with the flow of water from one item to the next

hope this helps

Yeah, I did all that but it wasn't working. I found the issue though, it was a dodgy connection through the wall to the tank. It "looked" like it was connected, but seems it wasn't a complete connection.

It all seems to be working now though. Thankyou very much... I tried this whole pipe ordeal a long while back, soon after I bought the game and it was a nightmare. I gave up in the end, but this time I finally figured it out and got it working.

It's still a PITA though..

cool glad you get it to work it took me along time to get pipes to work , but you should look on u-tube vids on how to do piping you will learn alot that is how i learned that and just trying odd stuff lol

I usually do check youtube for assistance on things, but this time I never even thought about it.. Either way it's working, which is the main thing..
Don't get too attached to the current pipe system. The devs are reworking it. They wanted to have it ready by 1.0, but didn't make the deadline.

I doubt anyone is 'attached' to this annoying as F system xD

Half a hour to build a single irrigation system...mostly because the pipes refuse to connect or bounce around connecting to anything but whatever you want them to.
