Did you also try to verify and or reinstall the game? Does it persist thru a save and reload? Did it just start out of nowhere or did something update? Apologies for all the questions. Trying to narrow down what it might be or to see if I should have you make a bug ticket.
Could I have you make a bug report and send your save file along with it. Here is were the save file is at and the email address. Thanks.

Yes, thank you for that. I had thought I ask, but have been answering a lot of questions since release. Looks like I forgot to on this one. :)
If you do, then there may be some uncommon bug that your savedata and system configuration info might help them track down and stomp- or point out a potential cause in something external to the game (weird, but possible).
If you don't get those crashes on a fresh game, then it's something about that old savegame you're trying to continue using. It's not from before last November, or from playing the Legacy build for the past 3-4 months, is it?
How old is this savegame? More specifically, was it started before the update on December 9 of 2024?
Probably something corrupted at least a piece of that savegame, or else your new one started under 1.0 should have crashed the same way. If you've sent the bug info and savegame files to the devs, all that's left now is to wait and see if they find a fix- or just carry on with the brand-new 1.0 save if you weren't too far in on the previous one.
