Easiest method for adding a new floor to the ship?

Hi, my ship currently has a 4x3 footprint with just 1 room height, and it's becoming very difficult to maneuver and move inside; I'd like to add a new floor to it, but what is the easiest way to do it? I have the extendable plank attached to a catwalk, if that helps.
