Come on give us a hint on how to use it. It says to Add Preternatural Nucleus. Ok so what is it?? and HOW do you add it??

You get Preternatural Nuclei from shooting the toxic glowing orange flower things (I forget what they're called) that you need to destroy to clear out the Infected Greenhouses. You need a sufficient number in your inventory (15 IIRC), then just hit E (or whatever the interaction prompt says).

In the tower where you found the blueprint for the medical station, you had to remove large seeds that were poisonous. They can be collected. They are the ones you need. To find more, find another tower and start again. Be careful, you need to have an immune system booster

I did the gather the glowing core of the evil dripping flowers, p[ut it in the hard-to-spot tiny input on the bottom of the bed, jumped in and... nothing. Or sometimes I get a minigame thing that seams to scan me but all it does is use up all my nuclei and nothing else - I think I'm getting close to the pinging thing and bam- it dumps me out of the bed with nothing else happening. I'm up to the mission to scan yourself and I lost like 50 nuclei trying to scan myself so far at least

did you click the "Scan for Cure" option before getting into the medical bed?

They might not be that far. I know I had to control the beam for a little bit and it used up some of what I collected.

It is story trigger. you get that option after you have some of the seeds in place (I think it takes 15 which you can get 10 per flower) - those radiating plants that hurts you when you touch it.

I was told to use the bed, but the option was not available until I put in more seeds to make it work (needs 15)
