Excess seeds/plants

I have a single chest I've dedicated to storing one stack of every type of seed. The problem is, I have excess seeds, and seemingly no use for them. I also tend to only keep a single stack of each kind of plant byproduct in my large freezer, and I have excess of those as well. I'd like to be able to turn them into biomass or something, but there doesn't seem to be a way to do that. Also, manually watering plants is a pain, and sprinklers don't seem to work great... or at all sometimes. I'd like to just connect water pipes directly to the plant pots. On a related note, the fuel tank doesn't seem to actually pipe fuel to my engines for whatever reason (even though they are properly connected, and I'm using the upgraded engines). So I'm not sure what's up with that. But I have relatively easy access to my engines, so it's not that big a deal.

I usually just drop excess seeds at any convenient landing site. After you go beyond a certain distance from them they will despawn. Would be nice to turn stuff into biomass, but I for right now I just figure I'm planting them around the landscape.
