Interact with friendly insect??

I've just started a up a ~4 month old EA save in v1.0 and found I can't seem to interact with my pet that's on it's cushion. I've tried removing it and putting it back but there's no longer an option to pet it or have it follow me. Did something change in how this works with 1.0?

No, but this is why it is recommended to start a new game. There can be issues using an old save. The insect has not changed.

I've had the same issue on a new save. Only solution I've found is to save, exit and reload. Works then.

The little bug also causes me problems from time to time. He usually becomes invisible. I can still command him to follow me or not from the pillow, and I can also access his equipment and backpack, but he remains invisible. He only reappears when I quit and restart the game.

I have this problem whenever I am not Docked on something, If I'm in the air I can't do anything with the pet but if I land all of a sudden I can.

Save/reload also seems to work without having to land

For this you can try to take him off the pillow and re-put him on it. I have had this help.

Already tried! It appears for a second and then disappears again.

Hmm if that is the case and it continues to happen. Please make a bug report. So it can be looked into.

I get the same, I save and quit and reload and I get the option to follow back.

I found I had to remove the bed, save & exit, and then build the bed again. Following that it's been working.

I actually just had this happen to me this afternoon. Had to follow everyone's advice to get it working.

As someone else mentioned, I only have this problem when the airship is not docked. When docked, I have no issue interacting with the pet, other than my own clumsy mouse targeting, LOL!

Thank you so much! Since this game is a "lonely" game for me (I haven't been able to get my husband to buy the game yet lol) having my little bug friend with me makes me feel not so alone. I was devastated when I didn't have the follow function anymore until I saw Dogboy's post!

jep, the main problem is you cant command the pet while your airship is not landet, but 1 prob is use the landing bridge is not landet with the ship so you cant use it too, so always land your ship
