Synthetics Grind
Is there any better way to get Synthetics early game than to 'fish' from the sky? Everything needs this and the small spheres only give 4. I'm constantly bottle necked by this material - everything else I can find easier.

Not for awhile, easiest way is to grab them from the sky, if you can find the big groups of them it gives 10, the insects that land on your ship will also give you some as well.

That's a shame, I like everything else so far, but the lack of Synthetics puts me off and really breaks the exploration immersion. I was hoping there'll be an automated fisher soon, similar to the metal one.

You get the deck extractor and the auto extractor early in game now. Takes care of the grind.

what do you need that much for? i didn't had much issues getting enough. you get most materials from the sky in the beginning. synthetics are also those yellow "barrels" lying on basically any poi. imo there is no shortage of it at all.

No, you get the Deck Extractor at Noahs towers and the auto extractor in the infected greenhouse. That is early on. Are you sure you didn't find the filtered extractor??

I just found the deck extractor! I would think it's early game, but I only did main story with minimal side exploration, so I'm only about 4 hours in. If that's already mid game, then it's a short story xD

Deck extractor is found roughly just before the end of the first quarter. The end of the first quarter is considered to be the end of the first Underdust mission.
