Where do I get more Chitin?

I have the main quest to craft immunity booster, and it requires Chitin to research the virus.
But I have wasted all of my Chitin on armor research and now I do not have any :(

Both new nature as wild habitat have chitin, like Ivan already said. Just fly to a new location of either

Not wasted! Just allocated in a different; and quite useful tech. Having armor will make subsequent forays into the underdust for chitin easier; coupled with those shock bolts; those mantises are more easily defeated, even on hard (3 shock bolts vs. 6-8 regular ones).

I just came back for 1.0 and I didn't even realise you COULD kill mantises since nothing seemed to happen when I tried shooting them (obviously I wasn't persistent enough)
