How do I get the auto deck extractor?

This is wild.. and annoying. I am playing normally. Not trying to be weird or do stuff out of order.. but I always feel like I have to be damn careful in this game because doing anything even remotely weird results in progression destroying bugs.

I went to that location with the hole in the ground where you can see the filtered deck extractor down below.

Ok...?

So I have that scanned. Not like I can build it. You can't build that prior to having the regular automatic deck extractor.

So where is that?

This is where THAT was supposed to be. The filtered one is the later one.

So where do I get the original auto deck extractor....

This is a known issue we're working to fix, so sorry about this inconvenience right now.
If a player has scanned the filtering deck extractor before finding the auto-deck at the Infected Garden, then the auto-deck won't spawn.

Its a known issue and we're working on a fix

My god. I just spent a couple hours trying to find it. So unbelievably frustrating.

And now to know that my game is hosed and you guys will fix it but I'll probably have to start a whole new game.

Honestly this just kills all my motivation to play.

How long before the fix?

Not that It really mattres.. I just can't go through all this work again. I hate that my game that I worked on so long is just trash now and will have to be restarted.

You wont have to restart, the tech item will just simply spawn.

The wrecked-item spawning system is dynamic, so hopefully they will be able to have it spawn into existing worlds where it isn't present as well. You will probably need to fly far enough away to generate new map areas, but that isn't hard.

Edit: the devs were apparently typing just as I was. :D

Thanks for confirming that it's a bug. There were a few other threads about it and I thought I was doing something wrong / looking in the wrong place.

Does anyone (or dev) know rough ETA on a fix for something like this?

Just wondering if I should set the game aside for a week or so or if it's a matter of a couple days.

Or if I should just bite the bullet and play without the extractor until the fix .. or start a new game if it'll be awhile.

I'm jonesing to play... harder than I thought I would

The wrecked Auto Deck Extractor not spawning if you had found and scanned the Filtering Deck Extractor first should have been fixed in this patch from last week:

If you can't find it at Infected Greenhouses in your save, try flying at least 5 KM away (so that all the towers currently on the map despawn and you are seeing entirely new ones), and find a new Infected Greenhouse. If it still isn't there, please submit a bug report.

Everything I read online said it was the rooftops template. That's where I scanned the filtered deck extractor through the hole in the ceiling of that big cuboid warehouse

The World Evolved update switched things around. The basic automated extractor is now in the Infected Greenhouse. The filtering extractor is in Rooftops.

Well that's some promising news. I sure hope the auto one is still obtainable when I reach an I.G. though. The dev here did imply it wasn't fixed yet but he may have been out of the loop on that particular fix. (I hope so)

Gonna hop in and pump the bellows and FAR: Soaring Skies my way over to an I.G. and hope this ♥♥♥♥ gets resolved
