Where to find the advanced pass component?
does anyone know where to find the advanced pass component? I've searched the area for an hour and haven't found it.

You get the part you need from the evolved flora hologram. You can then research the advanced pass component once you grab the PDA by the lift.

What is an evolved flora hologram? Where is it? Why is is so freaking hard to write an explanation in something someone can understand?

This whole thing is a mess. The addition of the Advanced Pass Component has been so poorly thought out and implemented it is embarrassing! Devs need to put their pants back on and fix this joke.

There is no need to be so rude, I'm trying to help you, I would appreciate you speaking to me like a human being, please. Now, have you loaded from an old save or have you started a fresh save?

If you follow the objectives in the top left of your screen, then you will never go far wrong.
We are trying to keep players' legacy saves still valid while continuing to improve and update the game, so people don't have to restart with each update.

If you follow the quest objectives in the top left, it tells you to craft it from the Ship Workstation. The ship workstation can be found on the lift that leads to the first underdust. Scan the broken one to get the blueprint and then you can build a fresh one on your airship.

I originally tried to access the Encrypted Data in the Research Station but nothing happened. It was only after I picked up the hologram and tried again that it did the research. No bug. My mistake.

Great game. Well done Devs.

There was something similar in version 1.5.0 of the game, I had to fly away from this place and restart the game.

try to fly to another similar tower

Looks like this main questline is still bugged, I've visited several of the overgrown towers, scanned the advanced pass terminal, and there's no component near the body.

Building the hologram created the quest objective to research it so I picked it up and fed it into the research terminal, but the research still requires an "Advanced Pass Component" to be able to make the advanced pass but if researching the hologram was supposed to generate an "advanced pass component" that bugged out and did not happen. I've already started a new game once with the latest update, so there shouldn't be any old altered item references pointing the wrong way.

And there are no components in the towers. There should be reports in the towers, which will allow you to close the quest and open a hologram in the research. I also had this quest under a bug, I went through 2 infected towers and the last report was not reflected until I went down to the basement No. 2

No, its not bugged. You just need to make sure you collect the tablet near the lift door on a table (iirc). This should give you the research needed for the Advanced Pass so once you get it go to the Research Station. You will also need a pass component like you did for the first Underdust elevator.

That's the problem, the game needs a pass component to finish the research before I can even unlock the door, but there was no pass component on a table or anywhere else. I've been to 3 separate overgrown lifts and there's nothing but all 4 types of fuel scattered around and a bunch of biomaterial from all the thorny vines.

The pass component is something you craft, you don't find it.
Its under the Components header in the Fabricator.
It needs x1 Electric Element and 1x Plastic Scrap IIRC.

Thanks for the clarification, it sounded in-game like I needed to find instead of make it (and that would make sense, because advanced keycards are pretty simple physically but it's the encoding which allows precise access control).

On an aside, are there plans to change some of the maps? I appreciate the "unstuck" option in the menu, the overgrown lift only has a ladder on one side and I came in through the ramp on the opposite side and had to use the menu to reset my location each time I wanted to get back onto the blimp because I couldn't get back onto the second level. Kind of makes me wish for rope ladders the player can construct and install onto select points.

You FIND the blueprints for the Advanced module, like you do the basic module. The Pass Component is the bit that bypasses the lock. So I guess either way makes sense.

You're encouraged to access the Overgrown Lift with the Docking Plank. UNSTUCK is only supposed to be a last resort. There are 5 entry points to the lift IIRC, but most of them require the Docking Plank so you can regain access to your base.
