As you progress you will find more nourishing food. It is always a struggle at the start.
I recommend growing Patats as quickly as possible :)
They drop at the same rate as a lot of other survival games that use this mechanic, like Subnautica and Planet Crafter.
Are you still eating early-game food like dust lettuce? Food you grow as you progress is more nourishing. I would recommend growing Patats. They keep you fuller for longer.
No .. I Finished the Main game until NEXT Update and this IS SOMETHING THAT NEEDS ADJUSTING Badly.
Like most survival Games .. NOT everyone needs to Eat and Drink Like a pig in heat.
AND taking the Virus Cure didn't do a thing .. which it should have AT LEAST put your HEALTH Back to medium or high ... ( YES EA and I wonder if they know what they are doing ... Been playing this Game since Launch and have Pushed it and given a thumbs up ... But now starting to wonder ) ...... JUST my Personal Opinion

Thank you for your suggestions! :)
Your health bar is entirely different, thats not related to the story or the virus cure.
Our team know what they're doing thank you and continue to deliver monthly updates with bug fixes and QOL improvements. I know you're frustrated because the deck extractor bug hasnt been fixed yet, but it, like the water tank bug are both low priority and not game breaking. They will be fixed eventually.
As for the food system, maybe you're just not a fan of this mechanic. But it isn't too fast by any standard. Maybe in the future we could look at adding some kind of setting here, its possible in EA.

Are you sure you have used the actual cure (with the cutscene and the message about the end of the EA content), and not just the immunity booster? If so, that sounds like a bug.

Ill look into different foods. If its mentioned in the database, I must have overlooked it.
The Wiki is pretty much outdated .. if you were thinking about it .. But still useful for some.
Cooked Dust Daisy, Green Collander and Patat are the best foods AFAIK. All of which can be grown on your Airship
Having finished the alpha and having a ship full of Collanders and Patats, My opinion is that its still annoying. Ive played games like 7 Days 2 Die and Project Zomboid and the food situation didn't annoy me as much in those.
What those games have that this one lacks are tools that allow you create larger batches of food that satisfy hunger for longer periods of game play. I dont think I spent any less time on food, it just didn't feel like the hunger whack a mole of this game.
