A 1070 is faster then a 6500M, So while your CPU upgraded to a better one, your new GPU was a downgrade.
If you were CPU-bottlenecked in other games before they might run faster, but in this game you were GPU-bottlenecked, which now became worse.
Usually games get optimizations in the last phase of developement.
So you might want to the 1.0 release.
One thing, it was running a bit warm, so some more optimisation is needed here.
Although why it doesn't tank with CP2077 is a bit of a puzzle
In Cyberpunk land laptops are usually one step sideways from a potato
Processor - 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-11800H @ 2.30GHz
Memory - 64 GB
Video Card - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Laptop GPU 6GB Memory
Game settings is everything on low and all the nice sparkly bits (shadows/bloom/motion blur) turned off
Early game I have no problem, get a decent 60/70fps, but when you start upgrading your airship, making it bigger, get all the machines in, deck extractors and then gardens fps drops to a unplayable 10/18fps. I should note that this is mostly only when i am on my airship, in the undersdust and various other locations fps goes up again to a decent (if not brilliant) 30/40fps
As it is I cant play the game which is a shame as I really like it. In my opinion (and I might be singular in this) implementing regular optimisations patches during development like the game Icarus does just ensures your game continues to run smoothly with the specs you have listed as you add new features and mechanics.
Game runs pretty bad. Dips literally into the 20s even on medium settings, which feels like it should be impossible. Pretty much the only game I own which runs this poorly. Maybe by 1.0 it will be better.
We optimize the game with the majority of the updates we send out, but we will continue to improve this.
It should get better.
Wonderful to hear - I was very much enjoying the game and designing a cool airship.
Yes, it's a gaming laptop, so a discreet video cards (in both the older and newer).
As I said - even the OLD laptop runs Cyberpunk 2077, Fallout 76, Space Engineers, and most any other new game I care to load and play.
It's just been THIS one, which has made me very sad.
Thank you to all who posted helpful comments and replies.
I'll find another distraction for now, and peek into the game after I see new updates downloading.
This doesn't excuse the other frame drops though. We know they're not good for a lot of builds right now, and we will continue to work at it throughout Early Access. The performance will improve and dip throughout the process as we continue to add more and more content.
unplayable
You dont mean Gaming Laptops do you? Mine chews this game up (minus the FPS drops everyone has)
