Steam Deck OLED issues.

Howdy all, I took a break from this game to bide my time and let some updates pop out, and I felt like playing again, only to find out that it's essentially unplayable on the Steam Deck OLED.

I can start a new game, navigate menus, choose my difficulty setting, but once I load in, the frames start at about 35, and drop to 0~1 until the entire thing just shuts my Deck down.

Anyone with an OLED figure out a way to enjoy this game again? I really miss playing it on my old LCD Steam Deck.

Also, I'm aware that it's unsupported, but it used to run perfectly.

I went through every compatibility potion till one finally worked!

OH man... I saw this response and I was so hopeful I would finally be able to play it on steam deck... Buuut... Nope. Only black screen

You using an LCD? That could be a big difference.

Hi,

Steamdeck Oled here, just download and started the game and well, yeah, It's said "not steam deck ready", and it crashes on black screen after selecting the difficulty.
Tried "Proton 7.0-6" (and disabling overlay in steam too), still got the black screen, but no crash and after a few minutes, I restarted the game and got a new save at the start of the game.
I'm now enjoying the game so thank you very much for the tip !

Thanks to the devs too, and I'm really hoping the game will be fully supported on steamdeck at some point.

Was able to get into the game on Steam Deck OLED, but I'm lucky if I can get a stable 15 FPS on the lowest settings.

I know it's not officially supported, but I hope it can be some day. I love the game and being able to play while on the go would be so awesome

Yeah I struggled too on my OLED.

I use a monitor in the steam dock with my steam deck k it typically crashes when I start the game it stutters then completely creases the deck. I'll try the proton setting you have suggested and see if that makes a dirrence

Sushi a shame a really good concept is anyone comes up with a solution or the devs create apatch or update i would love to know

If you get a black screen when starting a new game (new save), wait a bit (like maybe 5mn/10mn), and close the game and restart.
That's what I did.
The problem is the steamdeck doesn't seem to support the videos in the game, so either the animated background on the home/selection start page (we only see a grey background) or the starting video are not shown...
By waiting, I think I got the game to play it (even if I didn't saw anything), die of hunger/thirst and thus autosave.
When I restarted the game, I had a new save starting in the dropped capsule, and was able to play the game.
I just finished it (50h play-through, missing a few plans of course) and really enjoyed it.
A few place you'l get really low framerate but usually, it's bearable.
