Hand Extractor and Window Walls

So I'm having issues finding two items. I'm still pretty early in and wondering how I can unlock window walls for my airship, and I'm also wondering how to get the hand extractor. I'm at the underdust laboratory area, but I can't seem to find the hand extractor anywhere.

The hand extractor is already in your research table it's there from the start.

The 'glass wall' will be on a random data pad at a random location. It is normally one of the first to unlock.

The hand extractor needs energised crystal and the research terminal.

I have the research terminal, but I never see the hand extractor option in research or to build.

You would need an energy crystal and plastic to research it, then it should be in the first tab of the fabricator. Have you scanned/picked up/researched plastic?

Use your Studies tab in the menu. See what items you're missing at the location types you've already discovered and it should tell you what you haven't picked up.

Finding new items unlocks new Blueprints.
