Note to devs make sure there is an indicator of where the front is.
Note to players make sure to inspect the item before going ham and placing willy nilly.
Not in my case. I placed these condensers and I was using them without any issues. When I put the second filter on, I was locked out of being able to remove water that was already collected. The developers should NEVER have disabled the option to collect water, while water is present in the condenser.
Are you sure that is the directory as I don't see a saved/savedgames folder in there all I see is Binaries, content, plugins and sentry-native
I found it under C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\ProjectZeppelin\Saved\SaveGames
All good, gave me a chance to dig in and make a backup copy of the main save file to my NAS should it start having breaking bugs or get corrupted.
Also, PLEASE enable moving things (boxes especially) when not empty, it is a big pain point that should be pretty trivial to fix.
Lastly devs: it has a few rough edges and obviously some growing to do, but this is a really solid start and I'm enjoying the game a ton, thank you.
Also tried removing the floor piece below the condenser which couldn't be done due to attached condenser.
I'll send my save also.
I think it occurs if you don't remove all the water from the device, it will allow you to add a filter... then it doesn't work at all (just a guess). Though once it occurs you are stuck not being able to build beyond the glitch.
When empty the condenser spins up until it used up the filter when that filter is used then its full, it won't spin up again with a new filter until its emptied, this is why you want to make sure you can access the front of it when placing it (the front is the side with the panel on it).
If you make the mistake of putting it where you can't access the front but its facing a wall you can interact with it through the wall when its a glass wall. Just make sure not to place anything blocking that area on the inside until you move it to better access it.
to replicate
1)have a condenser run a full cycle till the membrane disappears
2)make sure it has the E prompt to collect water
3)put a membrane in your inventory ( may have to be hotbar)
4)go to collect water by pressing E
membrane will be applied water not collected
MAY be because no empty bottle for water so game engine defaulted to filter replacement
hope this helps
ive done it twice now..
OK so i sorted it sorta
its the panel thing COMBINED with the E prompt being available from any angle WITHOUT a membrane on and then it ONLY being visible if you go look at the panel WITH a membrane on ( which in my case was facing the wrong way) once i wiggled to get get access to the panel i just drank the old water and the condensers sprang into action un bugged
its an issue of the user not knowing there is a "front" to the condenser they need access to
That's it...... good find.
Now.... what TH3 says.... actually makes sense.
I've made a few attempts but couldn't find a way to access the save files. My problem is that I can only play the game on GeForce Now so the saves files aren't stored locally on my computer.
I did stumble into a fix by accident. While making my way back to my ship from "The Dust" I noticed that my ship wasn't flush to the ground. I had landed on some crates. This elevated the ship to waist height. Normally, I'd hold down the "E" key to climb aboard. When I did that I instead drank the dirty water from the condenser. I climbed aboard my ship and I couldn't access it. When left the ship the condenser was eye-level, that's when I got the "E" menu to remove the dirty water.
