Please fix windowed mode

Windowed mode only supports the resolution of 1280x720.
I would like to set it to a different one but it forces it to the default setting and I cannot change it!

I have no problems playing in 1920x1080 in windowed mode, however my issue is that I can't play in full screen in that resolution, because it moves over to a secondary screen that's also 4k but only takes up 1/4 of the screen

Windowed mode (for a single screen system) would use whatever the Windows resolution is set to, so the resolution option has no effect and is disabled. (On my computer the listed resolution changes to the highest possible supported resolution, and gives a message about the game not being optimized for high resolutions, but I'm not actually using Windows at that resolution.) You'd have to change your resolution in Windows settings if you aren't using the resolution you want.

i dont know if you know but, there is anymore a true fullscreen mode with DX12
DX12 literarly doesnt supports fullscreen mode anymore. you can google it if you dont believe it.

and this is aswell wrong, i played for a while in 1440x900 windowed. hows that possible if it only supports 1280x720 and to prove that

The OP is actually right. I tried to use windowed mode because 3840x1080 runs like garbage and I couldn't change the resolution. It stayed on 1280x720 no matter what I did.
I'm not ssaying it is not working for you, but it doesn't work for some of us. Dismissing it just because you don't have the same problem is not how bugs work.

And I will certainly NOT jumble up my desktop icons by changing my screens base resolution to play an early access game.

Hi, this shouldn't be the case. Please send us an e-mail to [e-mail] with this issue as well as your PCs specs.

For now, can you try to change it to fullscreen and choose the fullHD res and then change it to windowed again? Maybe that would help, but that's a long shot.

For now, can you try to change it to fullscreen and choose the fullHD res and then change it to windowed again? Maybe that would help, but that's a long shot.

That indeed (and sadly) doesn't work. I've reported this before during the alpha tests but I'll send another email :)

Do you want to try a 3rd party app? Google "Borderless Gaming", should be the first results as a github project by Codeusa. It's a universal app that works for any executable. You just shift it from a running list to your favorites list and it will automatically resize the window to look like borderless fullscreen no matter the resolution.

I don't want to run fullscreen though, that's the whole thing. My resolution is 5120x1440 which is not something that many games support (which I don't blame them for). I want to play windowed but at 1920x1080 or something and not 1280x720 which is quite a bit too small on my screen

If you want to play the game in an actual window, you need to use the Window mode, not Borderless Window or Exclusive Fullscreen. While the resolutions available are limited, you can freely resize the window itself and everything will scale, so you can make it as big as you want.

I know that I have to play in windowed mode, I'm already doing that. The problem is that it sticks to 1280x720. I can indeed resize the window myself, but the moment you open up the pause menu it snaps back to 1280x720. If I recall correctly there were other instances where this happens as well. I just want the in-game resolution settings to work as they should.

Is there any plans for fixing this? Just installed and tried the game again but the issue is still there. It would be nice if I could finally play the game.

Open GameUserSettings.ini and you can set the resolution in there.
