Insect catcher is stuck

It won't let me collect the butterfly from the insect catcher, saying lure is in use, and it won't let me dismantle it because the catcher is not empty. What do I do?

I have the same bug. I can't collect anything anymore so I just starve to death unless I can make it to an area with food - assuming I have time to get to said area with food and then cook said food.

You can make a new insect catcher. It's just plastic and metal. But the old one is dead weight, and you better hope the new one doesn't bug (heh, pun intended) out.

Are you holding or tapping button? Holding it is activating lure, so if you hold it while there's still something in there, it makes sense it tells you it's still in use

The machine is stuck. You can't interact with it in any way.

Hi, what lure were you using when this happened? Can you remember what you were doing right after you lowered the lure?

edit: also for sure check if your inventory is full

I saw this mentioned yesterday and it was linked to the ship hitting the weight limit. They picked something up off the ship temporarily and they could then claim the food from the insect catcher. See if that works maybe?

Hi, what lure were you using when this happened? Can you remember what you were doing right after you lowered the lure?

This happened early on with the simple lure. I had just crafted the engine when the lure would not raise. I figured it was a glitch so I just made another lure and same thing happened where the 2nd lure also wouldn't raise so my character eventually starved to death. Prior to that, I used the lure without a problem. I don't recall if my inventory was full but I doubt it. I ended up going back to a couple saves prior and have had no issues since then.
