Is there anything in the game that allows for the charging of batteries? Or is it always necessary to go to new locations to find more batteries?

Right now, batteries are an endless resource.

Every flashing light you see on the towers of a POI is a solid state battery. Every dust elevator POI will have a TON of energy crystals down below. 1 crystal + plastic (which you can make from synthetics) and you have a crystal battery.

Endless supply of batteries. I have whole storage chests (the 25 slots ones) full of these now.
