How to remove the balloon

Hi all.

I have started a new game and I want to remove the balloon so I can build up.
I have built down, but I would like to build up/
I have the ship builder but I can not find away.

You can’t remove the whole balloon.

The OG Balloon is stuck exactly where it started, it cannot be removed in any way. NEW Balloons can be removed just like any other building item by pressing MMB and highlighting it to press LMB. Just make certain the OG Balloon can support all the weight you've added since.

Theoretically yea, but I’ve never tried. Building lower levels is tricky.

You can only build down 3 total "Stories", including the original Room that the OG Balloon is attached to so that plus 2 additional levels down. Up is easier but total height I believe is 7 stories (based off 1 single Balloon). You can get creative by adding additional Balloons in strategic locations to build out that direction, then remove the new Balloon once you've built in that area (limited by the OG Balloon's weight capacity).

Hmm, I moved my original balloon. Pretty sure you just need to have a second balloon before it allows you to remove the first.

I built down and put a new cockpit one room forward of the original, and then moved the control stand down there. Makes a nice sloped front.

I've just finished building my ship down. Raise it up about 20 ft and then create the laddered room. Go down the ladder room and then put the other rooms where you want. You can move the cockpit down too if you want. You'll have to remove the steering and anything else you have attached to the cockpit. I remove the old cockpit built a new one.

I've just gotta ask... what in the world do you have on it that needs it to be so big? I only recently decided to make mine three rooms wide instead of just one, and really, it's too big now.

In my last game, I removed the OG balloon just like anything else. I made sure I had a new balloon up first... with the weight under 500... then I used the tool to remove the old balloon and replace it one level up.

This is this is a personal preference. I find it more comfy with a 4x4. I put all the workstations and boxes on the top level and have the bottom level with the bed and stuff I need to live with. I get the feeling it's my traveling home this way.

For all those trying to build down, you can build a "ladder room" below a room in your current lowest level, and it will connect to your structure just fine by creating a ladder through the floor :)

Yes we know that.
We are talking about removing the balloon
