this is getting better and better any more ideas?
If we want to go a little more disturbing, the Nameless Puppet, the prototype for P, has some distinctly biological components. It's entirely possible that P was built using Carlo as a framework and skin. That could be an explanation for why P's left arm is so mechanical compared to the rest of his body, if the original was mangled beyond repair by whatever killed Carlo in the first place.
P is probably just a more advanced puppet with some skin on top. Sophia also gets a similar? body at the end depending on your choices.
Then take a look at nameless puppet - iirc that was made from the Carlo's body, yet it still came out looking straight outta horror movie, so yeah, P is mostly a puppet.
P is an infiltration unit, part man – part machine. Underneath it's a hyperalloy combat chassis, microprocessor-controlled, fully armored, very tough. But outside it's living human tissue. Flesh, skin, hair, blood, grown for P.

I have always assume that the liners you equip are your skin or under it, but the liners may just be a clothing liner now that i think about it...
It's a detail that I think they kinda missed. he already looks 100% human from the start. would be cool if we started the game looking more like Polendina for example. with human appearance and features but clearly still a 'plastic looking' puppet. then as we gain more and more humanity we would change into 'human flesh' puppet as presented in the game.

I was kinda hoping that P would look more doll like if you told the truth a lot, but alas.
