Can Romeo be temporarily bypassed?
I started playing this when it came out, got to Romeo one night, tried him a couple of times, then went to bed. Ended up getting sidetracked by other games and haven't played it since. I was trying to beat the game without using Spectres as a crutch because I don't consider that a true clear. It's like summoning other players in a Fromsoft game to beat the boss for you.

I want to knock out the rest of Lies of P, but the problem is that I'm probably bad at it right now and I know it will take some time to get used to the jank controls again. I'm fresh off Stellar Blade (fantastic game), and going back to the Lies of P awkward parry timing will be a huge adjustment.

Is this game 100% linear or can I skip Romeo for now and go clear some other area to learn how to play again before I fight him?

As far as I know... yes, it's very linear.

So you won't be able to skip Romeo "for later". But don't worry, Romeo is pretty easy if you just dodge top-right (from your perspective).

You only need to time your dodges a bit, and the only moment when he's really dangerous is when he applies fire to his weapon. But you can force him to cancel it if you stagger him with charged attacks.

If you don't succeed on that, be very careful until he stops spamming attacks.

Also... you can go to other areas... as long as they're cleared. So, you can backtrack to try to level up, but that's it.

Cheers!

The game is very linear, yes, so there's no way to skip a main boss. I would also recommend trying out some other types of weapons to try some different tactics, slow attacks really suffer against Romeo. If you haven't been using throwables as well, give them a shot. They're actually extremely powerful in this game.

You cannot skip anything, the game is 100% linear.

What issues are you having with Romeo specifically? I could try giving you some pointers to help out.

No, you can't skip Romeo to get better weapons and levels to make Romeo easy.

If you're having problems with his real form, then break his weapon by parrying before you get his HP down far enough where he does his rapid fire attack.

No! lol

I haven't even tried to fight him again yet so there isn't a specific issue. Just seems like a bad place to start the game cold after not playing for 6+ months and forgetting all the mechanics/timing. I know I won't be able to parry anything because I just got done with Stellar Blade so I'm used to accurate parry timing, whereas Lies of P jank forces you to parry at a completely different time from when the attack lands. Rather get used to it again before fighting a hard boss.

Maybe restart the game on a new character until you get the feel for the combat again? Going from being out of pratice to facing one of the hardest bosses in the game is a bit like going from never having held a golf club before to challenging Tiger Woods.

You have to start parrying 8 frames before the attack lands. I'd hardly consider 8 frames very far from when the attack lands.

Romeo is about medium difficulty within this game.

That's fair, and starting a new game can give you a fresh perspective. But I'd recommend trying the boss with a high Guard Reduction blade if you're rusty on parries. It's safe and works great.

Kinda wild you call the parry here wonky and praising stellar blades parry lol
Svâstîkus 18 JUN 2024 a las 9:11 p. m.
when he starts his fire attack, hit him with a Fable attack to interrupt it. Makes this whole fight much more manageable. KoP is not a bad fight imo, just stay close and block as much as possible and get in some counter attacks (first robo phase). I've been running the increased stagger grindstone pretty much exclusively and it seems to be pretty effective against most content. ng+2

No skip, not officialy at least.
The hardest part is to get through the first part without wasting too much healing.
He's one of the main bosses.
The Circus Freak is weak to staggering, just do a little respec-ing to increase the stagger window a bit (and nab a few extra Cell Pulses).

Sorry, bro, no skipping. Pro tip though, just dodge left on Romeo. Basically all of his attacks will wiff. I was also bashing my head against him until I learned this. Could clear King of Puppets in like 45 seconds I had re-fought him so many ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ times.

If all else fails if you refuse to summon then just grind for a few hours and pump your health to 40+ Eventually you will out health his damage. Also make use of those steel balls you can buy from the vendor. Moment the stagger bar appears just chuck that at him.
