"Free from a puppet string" achievement problem

So, is it bugged? I'm sure I should've got it, I told no lies, gave Sofia peace and at the end refused to give my geart to Geppetto resulting in true final bossfight and Geppetto calling me a puppet in the end, still no achievement. Did I do something wrong, maybe there are some additional conditions for this ending? I tried to use backup of my saves just before final meeting with Sofia, decided to let her live and at the end I was simply stripped of the opportunity to refuse giving heart to Geppetto.

Oh, yeah, and I didn't get achievement for defeating Nameless Puppet, so the while situation definitely looks like a bug.

Sounds like a bug indeed. If you've told no lies, let Sophia live and refused to give Gepetto your heart, you've met all requirements for the achievement as far as I know.

Then I guess I'll have to beat the Nameless Marionette a second time then and hope to get the achievement correctly this time Luckily I made saves backup before going to Sofia

Edit: ah, didn't read the rest of your post. Might be a bug with using a backup save.

Edit 2: Actually I know what you did wrong. You're not supposed to tell no lies, that's bad information from old guides. You need enough Humanity to get the option to refuse to give your Heart.

Lies don't actually matter for the ending, you can tell as many as you want and need to at least tell some. Letting Sophia live is the main difference for free from the puppet string.

Yeah, I got enough humanity to refuse giving heart and beat Nameless Puppet. Still didn't get boss and ending achievements so it looks like Steam bug.

Do you have any mods installed? If not, did you allow the game to get to the credits after you beat Nameless Puppet?

Hmm, maybe that's the case indeed. I installed mod for Ukrainian localization and it uses another folder for save, now that a recall. Yeah, that's most likely tha case. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

I think there is one more trigger - I think you have to tell Manus you liberated Sophia. Which is a lie, as you left her alive. So I think going a no-lie run might have been the thing that invalidated that ending! Hopefully you can either go back to an earlier save or just hit it next go around :D

hmm, maybe if it's a steam bug try to go offline mod, come back online. stop the game from sync, enable sync again.

Ok, basically it was a problem with mod for Ukrainian localization that used different folder for storing files and as soon as I uninstalled the mod achievements popped up, anyway, thanks for your help.

As for the reaching this ending - I told no lies throughout the whole game, gave Sophia peace and didn't lie to Gepetto or Manus - that was enough to reach the ending.
