Can I get a mod where this game gets good?
Anyone know of a mod that makes this game more of a combat game than a Parry Sim?

Even as a parry sim this game tries so hard to be Sekiro but fails miserably.

kinda this.
A game who promotes parry =/= a game where parry is a core mechanism.

LoP ISNT a game where parry is a core mechanism.
You can evade/kill without parry.

Just get gud (honestly)

Instead of modifying the game, I suggest to modify your way of thinking and explore the tools this game gives you, instead of seeing a parry mechanic and immediately going "Well it has a parry, therefore I must play it like Sekiro, obviously!"

If you don't mind parrying a little bit, try finding certain attacks on bosses that you can bait out and parry those. You can dodge the other attacks and attack during openings like you would in a souls game.
You can also just ignore parrying on normal enemies.

As someone who went through the game with a pguard-heavy playstyle at first, as soon as I switched to dodging I enjoyed the game much more. Pguard the attacks you know super well, but don't use it as your main form of defense. You will encounter bosses later who make a mockery out of players who do nothing but pguard. Unbreakable weapons and attacks that send you flying across the room even when pguarded, for instance.

And honestly, when you switch to dodging you realize it's just another soulslike. That being said, I had to play and suffer through this game before I realized this, only to see other players struggling with the same thing. It's a fair complaint, you go in thinking pguard is you "mastering" the game, when it straight up becomes an inferior option against certain attacks.

Well yeah the whole point of the game is to use 'everything' at your disposal. I don't get how people didn't think they weren't supposed to use both dodge and p.guard.

Do people play other games where they only use half the mechanics?

Well according to some people if you play Elden Ring and do anything besides walk forward and use light attacks you're playing it wrong, so that might just be the case.

Honesty you guys if your playing it as a parry sim your missing out a lot this game plays just like Elden ring but remove counters and make parry function like counter i don't need to parry 90% of the time you just need to hit 2 heavy attacks and you fatal strike, I'd call this game a fatal strike sim instead of a parry sim

Agreed really.

Parry sim? Is this a bait?

I am still around mid-game and I'm parrying only around 4-5% of the time. I mostly dodge and attack like other soul-like games.

There are some bosses that are really hard to beat without parry though.

However. There is a grindstone later in the game that makes all your blocks automatically a parry, and you can have a P-Organ that allows to use the grindstone twice. With this, so much cheese.
